Much easier way to do this. Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast. Turn brightness way down and contrast way up. :-)

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Have you tried the effects in the "Effecs->Stylize" menu? Just an idea. By the way, I used your idea for the bloodshot eye... you can check it out in the tutorials forum.

I know this is an old page, and I don't mean to revive it, but I have to put in my 2 cents here. I've searched EVERYWHERE I could for a solution before coming here. Tried various things, etc. The moment you pointed to the Stylize menu, I clicked on outline, and it fixed the problem INSTANTLY!!! Many thanks!
