Most of my work is simple photo manipulation: punching a photo up to make it look a little better. So I took the image at left, and better-ified it into the image on the right: In the original, her color washes out in the background's brightness. Increasing the color saturation pulls my lovely lady forward, making her more prominent. Also, my Stargate Universe sig/av pair: (Quote by David Blue's character, Eli Wallace, on the new TV show "Stargate Universe." You can catch it on Hulu, and I highly recommend it. This is a placeholder until I can create a new 100% PdN sig.) Election Day: (I voted! Image of the "I Voted" sticker from the web; I made it shiny in PdN.) Veteran's Day 2008: (Kinda rough around the edges, but it works. Image from Wikipedia.) Thanksgiving Day 2008: (Quote is Abraham Lincoln declaring Thanksgiving a national holiday, 3 October, 1863) (Image is from Alfred R. Waud's Sketch of Thanksgiving in camp (of General Louis Blenker) during the US Civil War on Thursday November 28th 1861.) (I liked this one. It really tells of an understated, community Thanksgiving, as brothers-in-arms take a break from the horror of war to give thanks for the only happy constant in their lives: the camaraderie of their friends.) Firefly/Serenity: (The TV show "Firefly," which gave rise to the film "Serenity." Excellent. You should watch it. Anyway, this is a quote from one episode (by Wash, the pilot, playing with toy dinos): Stegosaurus: Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... "This Land." Allosaurus: I think we should call it "your grave!" Stegosaurus: Auugh! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
