Replacing pixels in an 'indifferent' wood pattern

Recommended Posts

Hello,

has anoybody an idea how I can modify a wood pattern layout (*.jpg) like the attached one in a way that all white pixels get completely transparent, that all black pixels stay black and that all grey level pixels get a scaled level of transparency ?

The idea is to combine different wood patterns on individual layers on on top of each other and then, by colouring complete layers and adding a base colour layer, creating individual wood styles ?

Sample: Base layer with a light beige, 'wood 1' with light red-brown, 'wood 2' with a dark brown, nearly black. Should crate a very intense beech pattern.

Thanks for your ideas.

Here is the plugin you need:

http://boltbait.googlepages.com/delcolor

Just set your primary color to white and run the plugin.
