Image Umbrella: Realistic Images

Nice concept, needs more, obviously, but I like where you're going with it.

Good job on the lighting, though I think I would show more of the sky, and maybe add some kind of light source from there (possibly brighter stars, or a moon or other type of massive floating glowing object) :P

@Zieon really taking the minimal image to the extreme. looking good so far. look forward to seeing what gets added next.

taking a que for Welshblue I made a Christmas Card as well. I liked his black and white version so opted for a monocromatic color scheme in this one. actually I was just practising getting snow on tree branches and some easy falling snow flakes.

all 100% paint.net tut for snowman under creative tuts

Looks suspiciously like this-

Looks very nice, and it's really hard to tell that those trees aren't from a picture. I definitely wouldn't mind getting that as a Christmas Card.
You make your snowmen weird though, mine are usually 3 giant snowballs stacked up. :?

 here the snow is very dry doesn't roll into nice round balls. you need to pack them up like that sometimes to get the height. and yes you are right I just recycled my 100% paint.net background and added snow. Had to hide that wicked deer somehow. It also is an experiment in getting falling snow to look decent and to figure out how to add snow to tree branches so it doesn't just look like a blob of white paint brush.

Nice oma, I think it looks pretty good, it would be harder to do balls instead.

I have recently got better at starscapes, and have figured out an awesome nebula technique, and i think this picture looks pretty good :D , is it good enough for a tut?

do you mean 3 snowballs in the tut? just do three the same way you do the head just different sizes. I'll stick it in at the end if you need a description on how to do that.

love your space scape. The planet is wonderful texture. do tell, if its not enough for a tut a brief explination in your gallery. I'm always interested in textures.

Nice job Falken - though I think you should lower the opacity of the blurred debris a bit more. Also, I would rotate the rings around the planet closer to the camera - they rotation they're in right now is good for composition but doesn't really work realistically IMO

Awesome job overall - the nebula is awesome, the planet texture is also very nice - great job and keep it up!

I was trying to say it would have been harder to do three different snowballs and that it probably would take a bit longer to make look realistic than what you had already done,

Anyway thanks for the awesome feedback guys, cya :D

is that realistic enough for you? there is no way I can explain that to someone that hasn't been using this program for ages and that doesn't know what their plug ins can do when pushed to the limit.

@ Oma both your Christmas Card picture, and your 3 ball snowman are great! :D I really like the second snowman, any chance you'll finish it and post the results?

@ Falken that's a great picture. I'm not sure if we have an post listing all of the starscape/planet tutorials, but I think it might be a great resource with all of the different techniques so many people are coming up with. :)

@ Gigabyte, I like your flashy snowman, it's really cute! :)

Well, yeah, I knew it was 100% PDN, I wasn't questioning that - but you didn't reuse the previous one? Seriously - so you just matched it very closely?

no Nab I did reuse the landscape in the Merry Christmas card one. I didn't reuse any in this latest snowman scene. guess my English explination was off kilter.

Nice work Flip! Love the colours. The nebula is just the bee's knees.

Had to go hunting for a starfield tute...I found a really good one...you know it too

Very had to get depth in a starfield.
