Drydareelin Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) A paper-like texture I did. http://i.imgur.com/KB3jOjO.png Don't pay too much attention to the text, it was just me trying out a few different fonts. Pixey Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Fabulous paper texture @Dryda . I like the ghostly figures too . Drydareelin Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I love the really subtle texture to it, and the eyes look great. Maybe you could add some shadows for the head and tail next time? Although that depends fully on the light's direction. I've already posted this to my gallery so I won't say too much but, http://orig06.deviantart.net/d1a3/f/2016/210/6/c/void_by_drydareelin-dabv95b.png Void 29/07/2016 I had another go at something a bit more realistic this time - apart from the star spikes which don't occur in nature! Rickhum Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I haven't quiet worked out how to drive this forum business yet and I'm def' not ready to set up a gallery. I could use some hints and feedback though so am posting this recent pic of a yogi. All done in Pdn and is my first attempt @ shading with Gaussian blur. I hope I haven't made a faux pas posting here. I'm sure some one will let me know if I have. 7 Quote “Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see further.” ― Thomas Carlyle
Red ochre Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 That is absolutely fantastic Rickham! I hope you do start a gallery soon, I'd love to see more images of this quality on the forum. As for hints/constructive criticism, I can't see any obvious 'errors'. Perhaps consider 'dithering' the colour gradients a little? - As a smooth background to contrast the figure's texture? All personal choice though! Have you tried TR's 'Dodge and Burn' plugin? Pyro's 'Smudge' and 'Liquify' could also be useful for images like this. Ultimately, if it looks as you intended it to, then it is correct. Good work! Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Diabolical Drawings ................Real Paintings
lynxster4 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 That is beautiful work Rickham! I agree with Red; start a gallery soon...I'd like to see more of your work. Rickhum Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Thanks so much for your kind remarks folks. Especially for the prac" tips Red ochre which I will check out. I've redone this piece several times since and tho it's more to my liking I'm not quite happy with my line work. I've started a gallery on Photobucket but still haven't worked out how to link it up. tuvm all. Woodsy Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Hey Rickhum, looks good! Almost looks like you scanned it. On your settings page you'll see a signature tab.
