barbieq25 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I agree with RedBeard & Yellowman. Love the table top. Well done! Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
skullbonz Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 (edited) Thank you all for your comments. I struggled with which direction to put the reflections because of the location of the light, lol, although I do have to agree,it would have looked better as RedBeard said. pdnnoob Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Found a photoshop tutorial on chrome spheres and decided to improve it by doing it in paint.net http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx228/pdnnoob/Chromesphere.png">http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx228/pdnnoob/Chromesphere.png Unfortunately, it doesn't work for other shapes, but it still looks cool... Drydareelin Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 First time posting on this topic, let's see how it goes http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/100/5/d/neutrality_by_drydareelin-d6150wn.png">http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/100/5/d/neutrality_by_drydareelin-d6150wn.png The most recent piece for my gallery, titled "Neutrality" 3 Quote Gallery DeviantArt Planet Tutorial | Sun Tutorial
barbieq25 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Dryda, that is really very nicely done! I love the pink reflection on the planet too. Your work is always so beautiful Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
pdnnoob Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Really nice spacescape! I'd give the foreground planet some (visible) curvature to give it some movement. As it is, it doesn't draw the eye any which way, so it looks out of place and distracting. Also, (and you probably know this already) there is a visible seam-looking-thing on the glow from the stars that has the same issue. Otherwise, I'd definitely put this spacescape up by Goonfella's space art! Drydareelin Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) @Barbieq25: Thank you very much ^^ The colours on this are really unique for me; everything else is either dramatic-white or blue @pdnnoob: Thank you The foreground (or close-up) planet does have some curvature. Basically I just put an extremely large elliptical selection, then pressed delete. I probably should have made it smaller in that sense. if the mean the spikes from the stars, I know that are entirely unrealistic in proper space pictures but they are in every space photograph -(captured by the light refracting off the telescope frame)- and I actually think they improve the images, although maybe not for my art Thank you! Edit: Some randomly large gap was between "pressed" and "delete"... Edited April 20, 2013 by Drydareelin 1 Quote Gallery DeviantArt Planet Tutorial | Sun Tutorial
pdnnoob Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) I think you misunderstood about the seam If you look at the left side of the image, you can see where the glow looks cut-off: Or maybe I'm just too picky... Drydareelin Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I...never noticed that o.o Okay, I've corrected it. Nicely spotted! It's still not perfect and that's really going to annoy me but thanks http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/110/b/7/neutrality_by_drydareelin-d6150wn.png">http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/110/b/7/neutrality_by_drydareelin-d6150wn.png Quote Gallery DeviantArt Planet Tutorial | Sun Tutorial

barbieq25 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Oh they are so delicate & beautiful! I love the shapes & the colours. They almost seem to glow. I can imagine these in a garden with the sun shining down on them to give them that glow. I like the way you have focused them too, A great job by all means. pdnnoob Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 You guys never cease to amaze me...wow. just wow. This is my most recent attempt at creating an earth-like planet from scratch. barbieq25 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 The planet looks great to me too. Looks real! I like the glow & the shadow. If I'd have done a planet it would be the whole thing & no lighting at the top like you have which would have made it look pretty fake & lifeless. The way you have it is spot on. You have such a great eye for detail. Good on you. Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
DrewDale Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 That planet is out of this world sir (no pun intended) I only wish I could make space / planet images as realistic as that. Top work. Quote
