Image Umbrella: Image Modification/Manipulation

Doughty that is really nice, the barrels look like they were originally there, but the cat is scary, maybe it is out of scale?

Welshy, Nice try looks good, it has some glossy, does she eat same food that we do?

Welshy, I really like what you did with this. I miss Aislin & same as you - big fan of her art.

With a diet like that no wonder she looks that good :D

Welshblue, love her luscious lips. Some make-up commercials go on about glowing skin.

Yellowman, yes, I was losing to much detail shrinking him down and the image looks cartoony anyway, so I left him.

Modified.                                                                                        Original.

Completely inspired by Doughty's post. I duplicated the original image, used laplacian pyramid filter on it then on the upper image used TR's Line tracer plugin and set the layer to overlay and opacity on 70. Added the barrels from Skullbonz tut finished it off with a ladder, text and a little red paint on the nearest barrel.

Thanks for the inspiration. Cool image Welshblue, top work indeed mate B)

Thanks Doughty. I thought the original image looked a little too clean for a building in the process of getting demolished. I think the plugins that I used added just the right amount of grime and dirt ;)

@ BarbieQ', Helen, Doughty and Drew ... thanks. It's quite an addictive thing. I guess there's worse things than looking @ pretty ladies.

@ Drew ... that looks really cool. Nice apocalyptic look to it. Great job on the shadows. Have you tried a Blend Mode on the Danger sign - maybe Multiply. It looks a bit bold at the moment IMO

Another pretty lady. Surprising what a few clicks can achieve. I never thought I'd use Metallize ...

Great image Welshblue, very good use of metalize mate, I would never think of using it in that way. B)

Thanks for the blend mode tip too mate, I have added a multiply blend on the image in my gallery, works a lot better, nice one.

DD, very atmospheric, I get the feeling of things past & imminent events such as a rat or something about to dart out.

Welshy, good call on the blend mode.

I love what you have done with the Metallize! I would never have thought of using it for that. You always come up with such creative solutions.

Well done both of you!

Drew: Very nice modification. The grunge did it some good. I've been watching the Marble Hornets videos on YT lately, and the creepy abandoned hospital was the first thing this brought to mind...

Welsh: Very good look on both images. Kinda looks like they should be in a video game or something.

Hey guys, new user here, started using last week (great...now I sound like a drug addict).  Went through a ton of tuts before I branched out and started goofing around, figured I'd join finally! Here's my rendition of one of my fav photos.

That's a really great idea! I love how they characters are popping out of their own "world." I'd suggest you use the smudge tool to create some fur for the creature.

A union Jack wallpaper on a silk stock image ... with a few PDN tweaks (plug-ins used Cross Processing and Vignette)

http://uda3mau.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/best-british-flag.html'> This is the original flag and @ YM as I said the base is a stock silk image ... which I can't seem to find again.

Not a hugely complicated image but a quick way of getting creases into something that someone wanted me to do for a cd cover ... displacement gives some pleasing effects too
