medab_1 Posted February 25, 2006 Share Posted February 25, 2006 I just installed Paint.NET. I intend to read all the help files. I hope they are better than the Windows Paint help files. My security settings do not allow ActiveX on webpages. Why is there an ActiveX used on this forum? In Windows Paint there is a "Paste from" feature that allows one to paste in an image from where ever you have it stored. Is this feature on Paint.NET? With Paint a .gif loses its transparent background if pasted in. I would assume with Paint.NET one could add a layer or something so a .gif would keep its transparent background if it could be pasted in? That would be nice. Rick Brewster Posted February 25, 2006 Share Posted February 25, 2006 This forum does not have an ActiveX control. "Paste from" in MS Paint is like "Layers -> Import from File" in Paint.NET. We have to make it more generalized because you can import multiple files, and those files can have multiple layers. Paint.NET should load a GIF w/ transparency just fine. Try Tools -> Manage Add Ons from within Internet Explorer and see if you find anything worth nuking.
