The Printing press I have blathered on about at some length as to why it is good.

The Fridge was low, so I'm helping it to it's demise, which, if I'm going to be ironic, could be firey. :P

- Printing Press ~ It revolutionized the world and we'd be no where without it. (So please, no guilt trips about hurting it. :|) But I feel manipulating electricity is slightly more groundbreaking.

+ Electrical Generation

This is soon coming to an end. I still don't understand why the lightbulb is going to win. More important than electricity? More important than computers? More important than the refrigerator?

We wouldn't be doing this right now with out a computer.

The light bulb shouldn't win, and We don't have to have light bulbs to survive.

I mentioned this already, but it bears repeating: NONE of these inventions would be here without the printing press.

Yes, computer people. Maybe we wouldn't be here without the computer, but there wouldn't be computers without the stinking press.

Nothing can be compared to the pleasure of carrying with you your favourite books, listening to the crackling rustling sounds of paper when you move to an other page, besides it is not that easy to read a p.c. in bed :D and please do not forget that million of people do not have computers or electricity as far as I know, shall we deprive them of books as well?

Why does everyone hurt the computer - it has drastically improved scientific research.

Actually, I now understand another reason religion has decreased - before the printing press the only way to create a mass publication was monks.

Bzzzt! :-) Sorry, but the printing press was actually created (and used) to further Christianity. The first thing printed by Gutenberg was the Bible.
