Ginalynn71
Hi there. I just started using paint.net, and its great, but I am having trouble with blending the new layers/images into the background layer. I've tried different things w/ the program, but it doesn't seem to be working as well, as the edges are still pretty obvious. Thanks, Ginalynn
pcmedic
I am having the same issue. I've done this before in The Gimp buy choosing my selection tool then checking feather edges in the selection tools options. I am looking to do the same. It basically copies the selection but gives a soft edge, that I set.
X-tasy
I have the same problem. I have just started to dabble with photo editing and all my photos have a cut and paste look to them. How can I blend thm to look realistic?
pika2
try doing a 1px gaussian blur, then 1px sharpen.
X-tasy
That doesn't seem to do it.

X-tasy
K....I'm combining two images together by using a layer for each picture. Wouls I blur the one I cut out and then sharpen them together or sharpen the same one I just blurred? Wouldn't that just unblur the layer then? Sorry, but as I said...I'm just starting to dabble in this and don't have a clue
aatwo
The best thing to do is to open a second paint.net and copy and paste both your layers into the same arrangement in the newly opened paint.net, and experiment with them. Experimenting with techniques is the best way to learn. If you sharpen an image you just blurred it will try to unblur it, but it will never return to its former unblurred self. But I would expect the person in the post was telling you to blur and then sharpen the same layer. Quote Deviant Art Gallery

Cass0618
Select the edges you want to fade then go to Effects, blurs,Gaussian blurs and then just mess with the pixels.
