Myrddin
EDIT: just seen your edit. That's lovely, still doesn't show us what it looks like, though, does it? What you might call carbon fibre, or how carbon fibre looks like on gaming graphics, might be entirely different to what actual carbon fibre looks like. Something like this...: ...? Mike Ryan
If you use the Fill tool or Paintbrush tool, you will notice in the upper toolbar there is a dropdown box entitled "Fill". I believe you will be able to find the pattern underneath, in which the outline and the fill of the pattern is determined by your Primary and Secondary color. Just a suggestion. david.atwell
No, not a PM. Just put it on here, so everyone can see. :-) Quote  The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... Curmudgeon
No, not a PM. Just put it on here, so everyone can see. :-) if you insist hehe definitely not tut worthy You'll need the Weave plugin in the Ed Harvey Pack found Here Create a new image Set your primary color to dark gray (I used Hex: 404040) Set secondary color to black. Select a Linear (Reflected) gradient Position your pointer in the center of your image and while holding 'shift' perform your gradient all the way to the top of the image (or beyond if you want the gray to extend further) Press Ctrl-D to deselect Then duplicate the layer :DuplicateLayer: On the top layer, do a Weave (effects > render > weave) with the following settings: Angle: 0.0 Size: 10 Edited from size of 4 originally, as the Weave plugin from Ed Harvey Effects dated 20071221 allows only a minimum weave of 10 On the bottom layer, do another weave (effects > render > weave) with the following settings: Angle: 90.0 Size: 10 Edited from size of 4 originally, as the Weave plugin from Ed Harvey Effects dated 20071221 allows only a minimum weave of 10 On top layer, set layer blending mode to Difference (press F4 to access layer properties and set blending mode to Difference) Merge the top layer down  Then do a Glow (effects > photo > glow) :Glow: I used the following settings: Radius: 10 Brightness: 30 Contrast: 20 That's all I did to mine...if you come up with something you like better, I'd be interested in seeing it. neagu
 i knew weave was the answer but i didn't thought about blending 2 layers together My pic will come soon Edit: one problem, i cant select size 4. The smallest size is 10 By the way Salu your "carbon fibre" is different yet nice, how did u make it ?
Curmudgeon
Edit: one problem, i cant select size 4. The smallest size is 10 That's really funky...I know I selected size 4 when I did the weave effects. But now it dawned on me that I was using the old version of the "Ed Harvey Effects". Now that I've updated to the new version of Ed's effects, I can only select a minimum of 10 as well. You can combat this by creating a very large image and doing the tut, then resizing at the end I presume.
david.atwell
Thank you. :-) It's a good thing to be able to point newbies too if they ask again. And you did a great job. :-) Someday, I'd like to see this as part of a tutorial of several different textures. Good work. Quote  The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior...
