brown705
Today I noticed that if I changed the brightness or the luminosity curve on an open picture, save it, then open a new picture (by drag and drop), the brightness and luminosity curve settings of the last picture remain and are applied to the new picture. I would think that they would reset to zero. Is this a feature or a bug? Michael
Rick Brewster
The values for all effects and adjustments and retained when you close them and reloaded when you open them the next time, for the duration of the current session of Paint.NET. I assume you mean that you did something like the following: 1. Opened an image 2. Applied the Brightness / Contrast adjustment to it 3. Saved it, then opened another image 4. Opened the B/C adjustment again, then noticed the values were the same as when you last clicked OK in this dialog. That's completely by design. Just click the Reset buttons if you want them to go back to zero. brown705
OK, thanks for confirming. I can see the benefit of this, if you are editing multiple pictures and would like to set the same settings. However, since I am not a professional graphics editor or photographer, and my use is occasional, I find the feature to be confusing and a little dangerous. When I open a new picture, I want to see the picture as it is, not as it would look with the same modifications applied as the last picture I edited. Maybe this "feature" should be an option that is settable in some sort of global preferences area. Just my two cents. I think the program is fantastic, anyway! Rick Brewster
The settings are only applied if you open the Brightness / Contrast adjustment again. When you just open an image, we don't apply any special filters or adjustments to it.
