vista?
AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!! Using Chaoscope and Apophysis is complicated. The UI dosn't make sense. How the hell do I make my own fractal! Are there any other FREEWARE fractal makers? I love freeware by the way!
david.atwell
With Chaoscope, my suggestion is to use the Search function to find an attractor, then tweak the numbers until you find something you like. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Are there any other FREEWARE fractal makers? Chaoscope is fairly easy: press CTRL+N, select your preferences, then hit F3 and you're off; The Chaoscope UI is relatively easy compared to others; There's no need to curse; Use Search. vista?
With Chaoscope, my suggestion is to use the Search function to find an attractor, then tweak the numbers until you find something you like. But that's the whole thing, I find an attractor but when it comes teaking all those numbers, it gets WORSE!!! Not better, worse! Even if i do manage to get a nice result, the colouring of the fractal is an issue. In a way, I prefer apophysis, because it gives a kind of attractor which is easy top edit by using the transform editor and the colouring of the fractal ain't that bad either. However, it doesn't let me choose a view angle etc.
Wither
Use very very small adjustments. The tweaks sometimes lead to far uglier fractals. But you just keep toying with it until you see something you like. Quote YouTube | Myspace | deviantART

My initial link to my DeviantART account actually linked (how, I do not know) to the reply form, which had a quote by you in it all filled out. I fixed it, and David liked my fractal. You're cool and all (really and truly), but I don't need to supply links for people to quote you ( ). It was just weird and random. No offense meant. BTW: I've been featured by *DeviousFractals on DA!

david.atwell
Exciting! My Christmas Tree fractal was in a Christmas Fractal newspost...that's hardly a claim to fame! vista?
Well, I took out my anger and threw it in the bin! After some experimentation I came up with these: Made with Apophysis 3D: Made with Chaoscope: Being honest, I had to edit the first image as it looked a bit grainy so I removed that with Reduce Noise Plugin which really did impress me! Yata
I like the first one a lot. Maybe it's just because it's blue, I'm a suck-up for anything blue >_> When my fractals don't come out bright enough sometimes I have to edit them in PdN as well. Just simply duplicate the fractal layer and put in a background color layer... No-one shall ever know... ....Oh, wait... Did I say that? I mean by duplicating the layer it makes it more solid and thus bright. It works well for my type of fractals.
