leroym
I posted this morning wanting to know if anyone knew of a tutorial for making a book cover (actually a cover for an ebook). This is commonly done on PhotoShop but I don't have PS. I really like working with PDN and it seems like it would be a natural for covers. I tried doing a search but came up empty handed. I must have posted in the wrong part of the forum and it got deleted. So I am going to try again in GD.
k.digennaro
do you mean the actual shape of the cover? or a certain design or text you would want on the cover? Quote Support Our Troops, End The War
Panhead
do you have a link to a PS tut so we can see what your talking about and try to convert it, that would help Quote My deviantART iGraphix ~96% of teens won't stand up for God. leroym
In answer to both of the above: It's both the shape and design of the cover. And I have not seen a PS tut mostly since I do not have PS and had no reason to look for one. But I am always getting offers for all kinds of graphics (free and otherwise) and they are always editable in PS. Here is a link to a program I have but it does not offer a very high resolution like PS or PD.N but shows you what myself and probably many others would like to see in PD.N. http://www.webgraphicscreator.com Click on sample 3D ecovers On another note: TechSmith Corporation is/was giving away the very popular Camtasia 3 at the same time they released Camtasia 5. There was no cost for this and it was not a free trial. Just a great giveaway of the very popular $300.00 Camtasia and Snagit. There were no strings attached but they did give you the opportunity of upgrading to Camtasia 5 for half price.
Wither
BuzzKill covered something like this a long time ago. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3305 Though now that we have the Shape3D plugin, that would probably be your best bet. Especially if you want it to spin. But yeah, all that stuff looks like it could be very doable in PdN. leroym
Thanks Wither, I grabbed that Shape 3D plugin. It's neat. I don't need them to spin just look good, hopefully.
