Maybe it's just to link the plot up, so he can go "I've seen him, Donna! He's been here!" or something of the sort.

Donna could call this "John Doe" gramps as if he was her really grandfather or maybe Donna refered to him as "gramps" in the more disrespectful way which you would to an old person.

The chances are I may have confused you.

OMG! Torchwood was amazing!

In case there's someone who hasn't seen the spectacular Torchwood finale, I'll be talking in Spoilers from now on.

Hidden Content:
Well, TBH, I never expected Owen and Toshiko to die (mind you technically, Owen was already dead)! Although, I heard rumours, I didn't expect them to be completely true! Who's gonna replace these two? There are rumours about people such as Micky coming back! My only "disappointment" was that there was no link with the ending of TW and the ending of DW where Jack and the others come back but this will only lead to more speculation and rumours . . .

Someone better upload that episode somewhere. Because I wanna be able to see it. Here. In America. Grrr

Hey, can someone gimme the plot summary in a spoiler tag when it's all over?

And I just finished watching the last episode of Torchwood. Sad.

EDIT: Did Rose make a cameo?

The following article will, as is to be expected, contain spoilers, so read at your own risk:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partners_in_Crime_(Doctor_Who)

It's still in development at the time of this writing, so anticipate frequent amendments.

I could have put that into a spoiler tag - my would-be first use of the tag - but felt no need as the link spoiled nothing but the title (which has been plastered on the DW website for the best of a week), and reading the article should obviously be spoiling. If you thought otherwise, PM me for some sense-slapping, we can arrange a time that suits the two of us.

Also, me and vista are working on something for all of us DW fans, so be happy!

Make that Torchwood fans as well as DW!

Also, who'd have though you'd see Rose at the end and she walks away, vanishing into thin air.

There is a problem with your link: there is no ) at the end where there should be.
You can thank Forumer's automatic parsing of URLs for that. As you can see, the closing bracket is there yet was not registered as part of the URL. I'll edit the address into its own tags to solve it.

So, a rate of the episode?

I'll start the ball rolling with a 8/10. Maybe after a second watch (I recorded it because I could not catch it on its original airing) I'll rate it higher... or lower.

9/10

I actually liked Tate's performance! Also, really nice cliffhanger with Rose!

I just finished watching the episode :D

I give it a 9/10 it seems quite promising

I think it's better than the first episode of last season.

I love the expression on their faces when they meet up again XD

Also loved the ending when the TARDIS flies off (It doesn't do that that often, does it :P ) as well as the Rose cameo :)

I think the main theme changed again....

Also, the current episode list apparently goes like this:

Hidden Content:
Partners in Crime

The Fires of Pompeii

Planet of the Ood

The Sontaran Stratagem - Sontarans come back.

The Poison Sky - Martha comes back.

The Doctor's Daughter - the actor who plays Jenny, the Doctor's daughter, is actually Peter Davison's real-life daughter.

The Unicorn and the Wasp

Silence in the Library

Forest of the Dead

Midnight

Turn Left

Episode 12 (name not released)

Journey's End

I give it a 9/10 as well, I love the mime-talk scene. :D

Did anyone notice the names of the family featured in the Pompeii episode of DW? Anyone here done the CGP Latin course, specifically Book 1? I lol'd at the reference... The family in the episode were, literally, lifted from the textbook, to the point that even the actors from the video accompaniments were the same! My former Latin teacher must be cracking open the champagne now...

According to DW Confidential, RTD put a lot of "hidden humour" in the episode.

Also, if you want to spoil yourself, feel free to read this article about the Christmas Special.

I think the destruction of Pompeii was brilliant :D

What do you think the soothsayer meant by "There's something on your back"?

I know a spoiler concerning the reference, but it's still a weird phrase.

Also, there was that phrase like "she's coming back" (or something like that) which indicates Rose's reappearance in the series finale.

Also, the S4 story arc is going to be a tough one:

Series Four arc

Russell T. Davies hinted in Doctor Who Magazine that the next arc word for Doctor Who was something said by The Master in the final two episodes of Series 3 - The Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords. [11] He has since stated that there is no specific arc word, but each episode of series four will have an element of the arc theme, which will carry through to the finale.

Four takes a somewhat different approach to the previous series. There are no big binding words like 'Bad Wolf', 'Torchwood', or 'Mr Saxon'. This time, it's cumulative: an element from every episode — whether it's a person, a phrase, a question, a planet, or a mystery — builds up to the grand finale. Russell T Davies says: "You've got to watch and listen closely. It's been seeded for a long time, with small but vital references going all the way back to series one. And remember the Master, in "Last of the Time Lords", mentioning the Medusa Cascade? Oh, that's going to come back to haunt us..." (Doctor Who Magazine Issue 394)
