david.atwell
Psh, it's a time machine. You can't be late. Glad to hear he retains some of the Tennant liveliness. I think he'll gradually become his own character; can't wait for that. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
vista?
I liked the Eleventh Hour. Matt Smith is pretty good. The series also seems much more sci-fi than rugged adventure (which is how I see the RTD era). I guess the only thing I can say is that I still don't see a distinction between ten and eleven's personality yet. I can still imagine Tennant saying Smith's lines and they would fit just fine. Not quite sure if that's a good thing yet. That and the music. The graphics are pretty awesome. I don't like the opening theme remix this time though.. I too seem to be warming to Matt Smith although I'm still not very keen on the opening titles, the time vortex titles look silly with lightning and the new theme tune sounds as if it has been tweaked too much. In fact, the silly lightning titles would be better with the series 4 music as that certainly has a "punch" to it.

Yeah, to be honest, I like the graphics, but in terms of sensibility it just seems weird. I mean, why would there be lightning in a "time vortex"? Apparently there's going to be a screening of "The Eleventh Hour" in Manhattan next Wednesday.. Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Steven Moffat ae going to be there for a Q&A session as well. Awesome. I'm definitely going right after school. Funny thing, I'll be in my school uniform (custom blazer and pants). Maybe I should wear a bowtie on that day too Quote deviantART Space and the Relative---Space Art Basics Tut (BETA)
Rubrica
I think he'll gradually become his own character; can't wait for that. I hope so; it's bad enough for him to be completely new, even worse for him to to be completely the same.

david.atwell
Just saw "The Eleventh Hour." WOWZA. I'm sold. Matt Smith is an excellent Doctor. As much as I like David Tennant (who is still MY Doctor), I totally can't wait to see this season. Oh, and Amelia Pond is definitely the most attractive companion the Doctor's ever had. The end. EscapistAngel
Shame, the only BBC I can watch is Entertainment and the DVD sets won't come out before summer and even then it's *just* Series 5: Part 1 i.e. the first few episodes. The whole series would fit my collection well, because all other DW or DW-related (torchwood 1, 2 and 3 and SJA 1&2 ) boxes are complete series... But I don't know if I can handle the wait But, life's cruel, and you say Matt Smith isn't the young, bland weirdo he was assumed to be? From what you've said, he actually seems quite nice? But, life's cruel, and you say Matt Smith isn't the young, bland weirdo he was assumed to be? From what you've said, he actually seems quite nice? He's excellent. Phenomenal, even. Time will tell if he measures up to the very high bar David Tennant set, but so far he's doing excellent. "Basically...RUN." Classic Doctor. david.atwell
Oh, Tennant WAS incredible. He's still my favorite Doctor. I'm just saying, Matt Smith is definitely living up to the high bar that was set. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... Rubrica
I can still imagine Tennant saying Smith's lines and they would fit just fine. Not quite sure if that's a good thing yet. david.atwell
His "...and don't come back!" comment as he threw the plate was very much NOT Tennant. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... LFC4EVER
Smith did a great job as the new doctor considering he had something amazing to live up to after Tennant. Rubrica sums it up perfectly imo, it made me miss Tennant. Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::.
Wilson
I just loved The Eleventh Hour, but The Beast Below dissapointed me somewhat. It didn't live up to my expectations as a story. The acting was very good, however.
vista?
It wasn't exactly "some alien trying to murder us humans" style episode but nonetheless, I personally think it was good, but don't expect too much from a second episode of the series. But more importantly, the next episode/s, (I have a feeling that it shall be a two parter) seems very interesting just from the preview. Friendly Daleks turning evil - I can't wait! Lastly, on episode 1, was it not mentioned that there were cracks in time or something similar to that as I'm wondering whether this is part of some series long story arc. Episode 3 with the Daleks, is called Victory Of The Daleks, in which they have been recruited by Churchill to help win the war. Episdoes 3 and 4 are both parts of a two-parter, in which the Lonely Assassins* come back. Yes, the crack in Amy's wall, the crack in the TARDIS screen, the crack in Starship UK are all part of the series arc. I'm a Doctor Who freak by the way. "Where's Scotland?" "They wanted their own ship." "Ah, some things never change." Nice reference to the desire for Scottish independence there. *Otherwise known as The Weeping Angels. vista?
I wonder just how the Weeping Angels make their comeback? Do they stare at the Daleks and freeze them or something? I didn't notice the Tardis screen crack yet when I saw the Starship UK crack, I thought it could be part of the story arc but I then though it would be too obvious but I do wonder how this will shape the series finale. startreksuite
They're only showing it on BBCA, unfortunately... And unfortunately I did get that channel until I cut down my digital package. Doesn't seem worth it to spend an extra $10 a month for one show! I'm really ticked at SCYFY for being too cheap to pay for this season! I'll have to view via online sources. It'll be fine since I'm the only one watching it at home! Quote my photobucket my blog my DA

The Daleks aren't related to the Weeping Angels this series. As for the TARDIS screen crack: The crack seen above expands over time according to the TARDIS tour: I am also intrigued, but I imagine that an enemy or something will come through the crack. I hope not as we had that last year. Edited April 10, 2010 by Wilson
