Mike.Ryan 52, that is probably the longest post that wasn't the first post of a thread.

no, i think CMD had a longer one about Apple once, i dont remember where though

Actually, there was one that was about 3 pages long made by Bob about 5 months ago in the off-topic thread.

Or me. :-)

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Firefox with 100 extensions would be abysmally slow. :P

And the phrase "Internet Browser" means "Browser with which one views the Internet." We all view the same Internet, but we sometimes use different browsers. This can also mark a distinction between browsers used to browse the Internet, browsers for files (such as the built-in Windows Explorer), and browsers for images (such as Irfanview).

MSN Messenger is an internet browser - after all, don't people use it to browse the internet?

Wait, how could a single post be 3 pages long? There is a 60000 character limit after all.

Anyways, on topic, I just got Opera Mobile, and wow! It's awesome!

EDIT: I also just read some magazine article stating that Opera was 30% faster than Internet Explorer (obviously  )

Don't push it. :D

I'll push it to the limit. :P

I'm not surprised that someone switched from Opera to FireFox.

There was a person who switched from Firefox to Opera, too!

Doesn't matter. FireFox is killing the "competition."

The poll says it all.

You could say the same with many other software titles.

At least firefox is making easier for future alternative browsers by making downloading a new browser something the masses are used to.

You know, I once read a poster. It said:

"What is popular is not always right...What is right is not always popular"

But nearly all software will die without users.

I kinda disagree. Sure, it'll take longer, but I have over 40 extensions and (not including my 10 themes) and FF still loads faster than IE. It starts up in about 15 seconds, though that's probably because my minimalistic layout (1 bar with 5 buttons and search box being the only things on it).

Wasn't that you? >_>

News flash!

Acid3 beta is available.

Scores of common browsers:

Opera 9.50b Beta: 67%

Minefield (Firefox 3 Nightly Builds): 65%

Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 2: 63%

Mozilla Firefox 2: 60%

Opera 9.25: 58%

Safari 3 Beta: 50%

Internet Explorer 7: 24%

Internet Explorer 6: 23%

Wow. The scores between IE6 and IE7 are a whopping 1 point. Good job, guys. And here I was thinking, "well, at least 7 just has to be better than 6 was." In fact, the rendering of the site on both tested versions of IE was so incredibly bad, I had to copy and paste the entire webpage into Notepad just to even be able to see the bloody score.

And don't forget, that as the ACID3 test is far from complete, the scores for these versions of the browsers will only go down.

Try it for yourself: http://hixie.ch/tests/evil/acid/003/
