vista?
Before I even start, yes I used the PDN search engine! Anyway, I was wondering if someone could create a Vector art plugin or something. I know PDN doesn't do vector art, but what if you we could replicate it and yet still be a graphics editor. I've seen a tut for this but for all my photos, the images look awful - very awful for some when i use this tut.
david.atwell
Download Inkscape. It's actually made for that. Making a plugin for PdN to do vector images would basically be like programming a new program. Why not use one that's made for it? Besides, Inkscape is free. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Bob
I've seen a tut for this but for all my photos Vector stuff is clearly not made for photos. Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. david.atwell
Vector images are saved as a series of lines and curves. The other option - Raster images - are saved as a series of pixels. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... vista?
What about a plug - in that just makes it look like a vector image although it still is a pixel image if you know what i mean
Andrew D
What about a plug - in that just makes it look like a vector image although it still is a pixel image if you know what i mean That's what seam carving is I'm pretty sure someone created a basic program using it. Google it.
Myrddin
What about a plug - in that just makes it look like a vector image although it still is a pixel image if you know what i mean That's what seam carving is No, that is not what seam carving is. Seam carving is that content-aware image resize program which was discussed a few months ago; you know, the one where we begged for a plugin. EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seam_carving. For the task you ask, there is no definitive plugin which can do that, however, a few techniques can get you close. I'd elaborate more, but I'm short on time, I just answered to clear up that slight misinformation . And, since it is built-in to Paint.NET, you already have what you're looking for. vista?
Ash, you may have to wait, I'm looking through all the pages in the tut section to find it. Please bear in mind, I am a school kid bombarded with homework because I attend a selective school!
Ash
No problem, I ask because if the users can see a tut on how to, maybe someone can come up with a work around. david.atwell
The ink sketch and the surface blur should do a good job approximating a vector image, but as I said before, there's no way to make it look exactly correct.
