Screenshot Programs

I hate to interrupt this scintillating repartee, but I think we should clarify: After you've hit the Print Screen key, just paste it onto Paint.NET or whatever graphic program you use to get the image off the clipboard.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

There's also absolutely no problem pasting to MS Paint if it's just for uploading straight to the net, It's one of few things it can actually handle... Event --> Upload usually take less than 30 seconds for me. At least then If you're in a game, you don't have to wait for PDN to wake up and load it's sorry < no swearing > :P

I use Window Clippings

Second on that. It's a major time saver for taking screenshots in Vista and having the glass and drop shadow captured correctly.

  • 8 months later...

What's wrong with PrintScreen or Alt+PrintScreen (if you only want the current window)?

And why was the thread bumped to announce Yet Another Printscreen App?

I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed.. :(

You have to paste print screen somewhere...

So if you're playing a game/watching a movie/deep into PDN, you don't want to have to open up Paint or PDn to paste.

I know about Source games, not sure about others, but in those games you can take screenshots which are automatically saved by pressing "F5"
