.Please help multiple images / multiples layers - then flat

Ok, so, I have 2 layers, on back ground It's a background, then on layer 2 I want to put a picture but it just deleted the background image for both, how do i do this? =\ im new ANY help is greatly appreciated :] thanks.

Can't find the link ... but it involved using an alpha mask. The easy ones should work fine for you for now.
