muntealb
Rick, I had a discussion with you about including more languages in the setup package. You said that this is not possible because you want to be sure that all the included translations are of good quality and you cannot investigate that on your own. I have understood you point of view, but it is in your interest that Paint.NET should be available in as many languages as possible, because this will increase the number of users and consequently the number of potential donors. So I ask you for a little thing, that will surely also please the other translators whose languages are not included in the setup package. You could add a new option in the [Help>Language] menu. The option could be named "More Languages..." and when clicked it will open the Localization section of the forum ( viewforum.php?f=14 ) in the default browser, so the user whose language is not present in the menu could add it after downloading the file from the forum. Rick Brewster
Yeah probably a good idea. I think the trick to doing this correctly is finding text and an icon that will be understood universally "enough". And good placement. Myckel
Other possibility would be a community language pack. I've build an installer around the Dutch language files. Other languages could be easily added.
Terpie
I would suggest a list of localizations, easily accessed from http://www.getpaint.net (and/or in Paint.NET as Myckel suggested), so that users don't have to search the forum to find a localization for their language. As it is right now, localization threads in the forum are mixed up by other threads that is not related to specific localizations, and at least I don't find that very user friendly (Of course I would prefer the localizations to be included in the installer, but I fully get your point not to include them) Quote Swedish localization
