From the little coding experience I've had (Lego Mindstorm, wrestling with compiling in Ubuntu, a TINY bit of ActionScript and Java) I've got to say it looks pretty fun. The process of writing a piece of code that is both useful and practical is fairly intriguing. Kind of like tackling a hard problem. It makes you think.

But then again, I'm Asian. What have I got to say? [/racial generalization]

All I have to say is that I have been using Cairo for about five hours and it is sick. Must. resist. urg. to post. SCREENSHOTS! :)

What Cairo does is what Litestep or Emerge Desktop does, it shuts down the Explorer process and introduces a different way to manage, use, and extend your operating system. Cairo is going to be a full featured shell replacement with the possibility of addons and such. Best part is: it is written on the .NET framework so extending Cairo will be a lot of fun.
