Rubrica
Hey! It's MY lawn, actually. HA! Oh, back in the day, people had respect, and they like good lawns but now, oh, NOW, people like that david go and steal 'em! Oh, david and I go a LOOONG way back, let me tell you, you young whippersnapper... [/old-man-stuff] Anyway, although the laptop finally died, and we're gonna have to wait about a month to get a new charger (the wire was chewed up, you see), I fixed our desktop keyboard! Rubrica
No: it was one of those Betty Crocker recipes. In that case, my condolences. Last time, we had had a cake, except the egg didn't quite mix, but we couldn't see that, so we put it in the oven. Mmm, fried egg cake. I didn't cook for half a year after that. LFC4EVER
Today i had a GCSE ICT mock. My schools exam board for ICT is AQA, and their GCSE papers are what i call "baby-papers". For those curious, here's a link to a few samples: http://www.aqa.org.uk/qual/gcse/ict_b_assess.php My mock was the 2008 paper, and one of the questions was something like: Draw a diagram of portrait and landscape. No joke. Further questions did get tougher, but quite do-able. Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::.
survulus
But GCSE (equal to my standard grades) do not cover graphic design at all. At the level above (higher, which is like a-level for you) they were teaching us about crop and showing us the difference between rotated images. And no, I'm not joking. Crimson
My Kithkin Deck rocks! I played about four games with it today, and won three of them.I LOVE white cards. Don't get me wrong, white is a great color, and Kithkin can be extremely deadly, lightning-fast swarming and life-gaining and all that, but it's pretty basic and doesn't require an enormous amount of strategy. Now, try playing something like blue/white control or red/green/black land destruction, now there's a deck.Full of combos and tactics that you would never dream of until you actually played. It becomes so much more versatile if you know what cards to put in your deck and how to use them, making you become a lot harder to beat. For example. Say I throw a...oh....Hissing Miasma at you. Or two. Or three. What would yo do then? You can only attack me so many times before you rot away. Or maybe a Blazing Archon or Teferi's Moat. Those would lock up your huge army of Kithkin while your opponent would slowly burn you to death with red cards or poke you until you die with an unblockable creature. My point is, Kithkin are great. But a basic deck like such will be beaten very easily with the right cards. This has been Magic: The Gathering 101 from Crimson. Class Dismissed. *feels like a huge geek and feels that he was excessively rude to d.a by telling him that he didn't know how to play Magic. So he shuts up now* Quote Create A Professional-Looking Product Advertisment Mockup flickr | Deviant Art
david.atwell
*feels like a huge geek and feels that he was excessively rude to d.a by telling him that he didn't know how to play Magic. So he shuts up now* In fact, I don't. I'm still barely four days into my first deck, and less than a month (?) into Magic in general. :-) So thank you, you've actually given me quite a lot to consider. As for your scenarios: Hissing Miasma: Well, let's assume I can't destroy the enchantment right off (something for which I actually have several cards in my deck). I would begin attacking with my 4/4 Changeling Hero (Lifelink, First Strike) while Cenn's Heir (gives +1/+1) is on the table. So now, yes, I lose one life for every time I deal damage to you. But I gain four. Net gain of 3 FTW! :-) Blazing Archon: Again, assuming I don't slap it with Crib Swap (Removes target card from play, gives you a 1/1 Changeling token in its place) (this assuming you can get it into play in the first place - that is an expensive card!), I guess I would Oblivion Ring it into...um...oblivion. :-P (Removes the card from play until Oblivion Ring is removed from play) Teferi's Moat: Easy. Kinsbaile Balloonist gives flying to any other character for the rest of the turn when it attacks. I have several. :-) That said, yes, my deck is fairly simple. And I'm planning to branch out. I think Green/White might be coming next...or I might just go straight for Black. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. Mike Ryan
Magic talk? Oh I have got Magic talk... So tonight at the school we are having an Extended tourny playing for a 100$ crash prize and about a million packs of Japanese Shards, so what do I do? I decide that I am going to break Shards of Alara. I had about five of these 'reject rare' cards from Shards called Ad Nauseam. It is simple: Reveal the top card of your library and put that card into your hand. You lose life equal to its converted mana cost. You may repeat this process any number of times. So how does this deck work? It relies on the flame rituals so you can manamorphose into two black mana. By around turn two or three, you have two black, three red, and one white mana floating. Combo time? Combo time indeed. Play Angel's Grace, it has split second and says you can't lose the game this turn. Then play Ad Nauseam to get teh deck into your hand. Using Symian Spirit Guide, you can immediately get three to four red mana floating for free, and then use a mixture of the fire rituals and manamorphose to get a storm counter of around 30 only to grapeshot or, if you are doing the combo at instant speed, brain freeze. The deck really is so perfect, and I think because it has this instant 'In response to your elf combo going off' vibe it could be a game crusher. As for Kithkins, I love Kithkins. However, the most powerful white weenie deck in the game of magic is probably going to be soldiers. Soldier gen ontop of a Door of Destinies with Mana Tithes and Holy Days to keep you up to speed is a very powerful deck, and almost always wins. Perhaps a Magic thread would be nice... Crimson
Elf. That is all. Edit: Wait, that's not all. @d.a: Privileged Position deals nicely with Crib Swap. Two of them, in fact. As for your Changeling Hero, you still have your other creatures to attack with, each dealing you 1 or 2 damage. If you're attacking alone with a 4/4 (ok, 5/5). I'll block it (with my vast array of 1/1 [2/2, 3/3...] Elf Warriors), and it's gone.
