ncfan51
Good news! I'm roughly halfway done with creating my potential new username.I found a couple of good sites with some great latin roots and phrases, and found a number of good words. I originally intended on having the term "foo" in the username (meaning undefined value), but alas there was no Latin term that went with it well. To replace it, I'm going to use the Latin root "ignot" meaning unknown. But for the sake of Latin accuracy and making the name sound cooler, I'll use a suffix that you would hear if it were said in a Latin conversation [ignotus, ignotum, and ignotem to name a few]. But unfortunately, ignotus.com and ignotum.com are already registered domains, which will force me to either buy one of the domains when the time calls for it, or add another word to the username. So I've been looking up other Latin nouns that can go side-by-side with igno. [...] Any suggestions? Ullus consilius? Now that I think about it, both Incognito and ncfan51 are pretty bland. Let's see... [*:33mtuivr]Espyr (thought about it when I fell asleep coding. It has a nice ring to it, but chances are, like almost all other good names, it's taken somewhere.[*:33mtuivr]Vitasans (extremely grammatically incorrect latin...)[*:33mtuivr]Perrault (my favorite character from the Call of the Wild Uhh...OK, I'm out Quote +_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+ I am a disco dancer. +_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

usedHONDA
I kinda like usedHONDA better  QFT. I guess that's kinda true. I may end up using "uH". It's a quick spell, easily distinguished by the reverse capitalization, and I can always try to buy uh.com from whomever it's registered to. Myrddin
uH: how about your actual name in Latin? For some reason, I have Victor coming to mind, who knows why, it just does. ...The name [Victor] is of Latin origin (victoris) meaning "conqueror". It is a masculine given name.' ...? You get the idea if Victor is not your name. Or is that too personal, people encroaching too far into your real-life? usedHONDA
...I have Victor coming to mind... Correct! Let's see... This is what the Latin translator came up with: victum, vinco, vinco vici victum, debello, subigo, convinco, supero Supero is kinda cool, but kinda cony at the same time. Convinco sounds like a PG-13 movie title . Debello is kinda neat. The others just don't work at all. I could always go for the Spanish translation, though [conquistador]... Myrddin
...[conquistador]...When I read that, I thought '16th Century swashbuckler: all romantic, courageous, fanciful, a hint of Zorro, maybe'. Crazy Man Dan
Sanctuarial: I'm finally starting to wrap my head around this jQuery stuff. The syntax makes it a heck of a lot shorter than writing one's own DOM manipulation in straight-up Javascript, but it's close enough to real Javascript that I'm not totally lost looking at it. I looked at a demo that was screencast on the jQuery blog, and I replicated it a little: http://cmdsketchpad.com/jquery/ Quote I am not a mechanism, I am part of the resistance; I am an organism, an animal, a creature, I am a beast. ~ Becoming the Archetype

startreksuite
I'm going for my second and hopefully last root canal! Then in two weeks I'll get a cracked filling fixed, and more root canal fun! But in a real positive note, Spyware Blaster 4 is cool, and the update made it so Backup Installed programs doesn't come up anymore! Most of the work-in-progress designs I have are personal ones, but there are a few work-related ones that probably shouldn't get out without client approval. I'm glad you like it, though. Mike Ryan
Ahh... got permission to post it. But even better is that CMD pointed me to a second redesign of this site that is equally as perfect. The first one, which is the first I had come to see, is merely Technolografik. The top navigation bar is like smooth glass. So Mac-ish it isnt even funny. Of course, 100% XHTML Strict. One of the few sites that fully pass Opera's validation. Unforutnetly, the layout is getting replaced. (BTW CMD, you always have a friend you can dump layouts on  ) The second one is as equally perfect. It truly shows that tables are no longer needed. While it may not have that glassy, Mac feel like the previously mentioned this one is still great work. This one is Furon Technolografik. Black on grassy fields always looks great, and I think it may have inspired me to sit down and work on another sig. Of course, what is perfection when the core is corrupt? This site is as well 100% XHTML Strict, perfectly valid. Gets a green check on every category. for CMD > When I refer to the name, I am actually refering to the URL. Both sites go by the name of Furon Technolografik to the extent of my knowledge.
Crazy Man Dan
...Of course, 100% XHTML Strict. One of the few sites that fully pass Opera's validation....Of course, what is perfection when the core is corrupt? This site is as well 100% XHTML Strict, perfectly valid. Gets a green check on every category. You bet! Whenever I make a site, I almost always try to make sure each page passes validation. I must admit that I have yet to validate the code that my blog outputs, though... When I refer to the name, I am actually refering to the URL. Both sites go by the name of Furon Technolografik to the extent of my knowledge. You are correct. I used the name differentiation to specify the subdomain. Unforutnetly, the layout is getting replaced. (BTW CMD, you always have a friend you can dump layouts on  ) The current Technolografik site comes with two designs. The second one (Furon Default (which started as the default but isn't anymore) on the CSS page, the other two are broken) is more squarish and business-y, but I like the colors. I was actually inspired by the Opera website colors when I made it, so you should like that one.
