Haha thanks! I was kind of hoping folks at hogwarts would have made the mistake – never got my acceptance letter. oh well maybe if I make it to 30 I'll be omnipotent(warning, profane language) and I can laugh at those puny wand-wavers.

Haha I like that boys are embracing their "feminine" side. Like Barbie said, it's fine for girls to be "masculine" so why shouldn't we boys be a little girly too? It's great, although, it's tougher to pick the fruit from the orchard if you catch my drift.

Sanctuary: Ah, finally the excruciatingly long Christmas break will be over tomorrow; shops open again and post delivers!! hooray, I need to buy some brushes and I'm expecting a CD and a (late) christmas present for a friend.

Hooray, I finally got around to looking at apartments again, and I found some really good options! I'm so excited at the possibility of moving out! And I talked with my dad about it too (I don't usually do that, I hate it but I sort of tend leave him out of things regarding my life) and he seemed very much okay with it.

Also, my friend's mom asked me if I wanted a couple of her old and possibly rare Tom of Finland posters (google if you dare) in exchange for my own artwork!

Ok now I had to Google it. Thanks Kemaru & Welshy...

Tom has quite a nice style. I think I prefer his earlier works that were softer & more gentle. What a shame he destroyed the very first ones. His style reminds me of Boris Vallejo in the way he draws the exaggerated features.

Welshy - DO NOT Google him unless you are alone :P Lest you want to hear Muuuummmm! As for anyone else - don't do it at work either :D

Kemaru, I'd take those posters too.

Haha, I can understand the reaction. Some of his pieces are distasteful but he made them with a specific purpose in mind... The primary subject of his work is really quite remarkable for its time and he was good at it. I looked up Boris Vallejo and I liked his work, although they made me think of old movie posters & book covers and Tarzan and Robinson Cursoe

My friend's mom has a delightful sense of style and I always love going to their place, so I trust the posters are ones with minimal frontal nudity (I mean, I'm cool with it but they might be upsetting for visitors)
I looked at all some of his works in an online gallery and I preferred the coloured paintings a lot over the charcoal drawings.

I agree Welshy on all counts there. It has been a lovely journey to new ways of thinking & viewing. Thanks Kemaru & glad you got to see a bit of Vallejo. He did do a lot of book covers, so likely you have seen his work before.

Full frontal nudity - come to my house where in the lounge room there are 3 nudes airbrushed in B & W by my hubby. They are not in-your-face but a study in light & contrast. I adore them for what they are. Mind you I am not sure about my Muslim friends' reaction to them. They still visit so I guess they are understanding that we have differing views.

I've got an interview for cytotechnology school in an hour and a half...My immediate life plans are hinging on how well I do today. They only take four students, and they are one of only a few schools in the country (which means I could be competing with dozens of other applicants). *internally screaming* Fortunately, they are affiliated with the uni I go to, and take preference for those students. We'll see how it goes :00:

To echo others on here - Best of luck Daniels, I hope all goes well for you :)

@ Welshblue - I agree. I would hate to be a teen coming up now, sure there is better education prospects for them now (if they want it)  but a LOT of pressure too. Even in primary school years  :/

Thanks, EER and Nitenurse.

It's true that there are a lot of education prospects out there. The bad thing is, there's not a whole lot of jobs for some of them. Fortunately for me, the jobs in the medical field are fairly abundant. Unless you are going to medical school...With all the malpractice insurance they have to pay, and our new healthcare insurance causing issues, our General Practitioners are really getting the shaft. My GP hasn't gotten a paycheck since the beginning of the year because of complications with "Obamacare".

Minor rant - well, more of an irritation, really: I'm in a musical, and I've never sung before. As in, never. Through sheer serendipity and dumb luck, I have managed to avoid singing a word in my entire life - don't ask how I got given the role, but I just know this will end quite badly. Time to practise, I guess!

Today's happy sentiment: I recalled posting the above over a year ago with regard to my school's musical, so I thought I'd find the exact quote. I remember being pretty concerned about the whole thing. This year's production begins showing next Wednesday, and my feelings are almost completely opposite from before; amusing what a difference a year can make.

Well done and congratulations @Daniel.  Now please do something about Obamacare so that I can move back to the states.  As it is - getting very difficult to find a Dr to take me on :(

What can I say, I'm a likeable person! I don't really go out of my way to be in good terms with teachers — quite the opposite in fact: I protest, I'm late, don't show up a lot, I only manage to do half the work I should... I guess I'm the only who doesn't like me.

Happiness: My friend's girlfriend asked me to take her graduation photos!

Happy thought of the day...

"Plus" plugins are all the rage (Curves+, Vignette+, etc.) but I've written my first MINUS plugin...

I've always loved Tanel's Shadow/Highlight Recovery plugin. But, the UI was way too complicated for me.

I rewrote the UI to simplify it down to 2 sliders, but the math is all Tanel's.

I won't publish it publicly as it really is his plugin. But, I'll use the hell out of it myself! :)

I love the idea of simple plugins!  I have a collection of my own mini plugins each of which which do exactly ONE job.  No fuss, no frills & no complex UI.

That said - my next plugin has the most complex UI I've ever attempted.  You'll see why when I get around to releasing it.  At the moment it's still in development.
