AnnieKey58
I've been raving about the programs to my friends and some of my friends say that they do not meet the requirements to download because they have windows 2000. My question is: is paint.net program only for XP? if not..how can one download the program and meet the requirements...or how do we get around using the program for windows 2000? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Quote Catch Me !
oma
from this page http://www.getpaint.net/download.html System Requirements Minimum System Windows XP (SP2 or later), or Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003 (SP1 or later) .NET Framework 2.0 500 MHz processor (Recommended: 800 MHz or faster) 256 MB of RAM (Recommended: 512 MB or more) 1024 x 768 screen resolution 200+ MB hard drive space 64-bit support requires a 64-bit CPU that is running a 64-bit version of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003, and an additional 128 MB of RAM Please note that Paint.NET uses your hard drive to store temporary files related to undo/redo. Because of this, actual disk space requirements will depend on the type of actions you perform on an image, and on the size of the image. I'm not computor enough knowledge to tell you if there is a work around or not for 2000 maybe someone else will answere this thread as well and let you know if that's possible or not. personally I don't think so. AnnieKey58
Thank you so much for the info OMA. This is greatly appreciated. I will convey the somber news and hopefully my friends will upgrade their operating systems so that they can begin and have fun like we do on PAINT.NET Quote Catch Me ! Bob
8 ) Do not ask for older versions of Paint.NET. This is a corollary to #7, but I'm spelling it out separately anyway. We will not provide download links for them -- you are on your own to find them (hint: try a search engine). Along with this, don't ask about Windows 2000 support. Seriously. You may think you have some new question or insight, and that's definitely possible, but this is not something that will be added back in to a future release of Paint.NET. End of discussion. Rick Brewster
Bob, he's not asking for an older version ... Anyway this is on the official download page. AnnieKey58, you could've found it with a simple web search for "paint.net system requirements" :?
