Thraka
Is it possible to modify the selection area? Like in Paintshop Pro you can expand\contract it by x pixels. Or you can actually set from X,X pixel to X,X pixel -> select and it creates the rect for you.
MattBlackLamb
You'll need the move selection tool, it looks like this > Quote dA Son, someday you will make a girl happy for a short period of time. Thraka
Thanks for the tip! Is it possible for plugins to interact with the selection rectangle itself? So a plugin might be created to add what I was saying: Choose it via coords instead of using the GUI.
spike 121
the coordinates of the pixels are in the bottom left corner, and yes, i f a selection box is open, the plug-ins generally only work in that area Quote  "No. Dreaming is illegal."~Pyrochild
MattBlackLamb
There are a few effects that don't work with selections, Radial Blur doesn't. davidism
Radial blur doesn't work well with the selection. The effect is cropped to only affect the selection, but is not centered in the selection. Try Radial Blur + to do this.
BoltBait
To answer your question... Is it possible for plugins to interact with the selection rectangle itself? So a plugin might be created to add what I was saying: Choose it via coords instead of using the GUI. No, it is not possible to change what is selected from within a plugin. davidism
If you want to make a custom selection, use the line/curves tool to draw a shape on a new layer, then use the magic wand to select inside it.
Thraka
Thanks for the replies. The reason I was asking was that if I'm doing some mockups of specs which have specific pixel widths and heights for objects, it's much easier to do if I can specify a selection rect through cords instead of using a wand or selection rect tool and watching where the cursor is. Thanks again.
Deborah
If you look at the status bar at the bottom of the screen while selecting, it will give you the height and width (and starting co-ordinates) of your selection. I find that helps me a lot when making mockups.
davidism
Even better, click and hold the mouse button, then use the arrow keys to precisely move the mouse. I don't know if this is documented, I found it by accident. You can do this for almost any tool, even if the mouse isn't pressed.
