Rick Brewster
*@yahoo.com and *@yahoo.com.au are not allowed because accounts created we've had a lot of spam come from them. You know, like the one that happened earlier this week. It was ALL *@yahoo.com and *@yahoo.com.au. In general, any domain that lets you sign up on short notice for a free e-mail account is suspect in this regard. That includes Hotmail, Gmail, etc. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

jp2paint
My point is that some people only have free mail accounts at their disposal. My employer, for example, provides Internet access but does not provide employees with email accounts because there are so many free services (like Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, and GMail) out there. I suppose I'm just defending the devil over here. Quote ~Joe Avoid Sears Home Improvement (click to read why)
david.atwell
Gmail is a bit less suspect in that regard, as it requires an SMS-enabled phone or an invitation from an existing user to register. I'd suggest that one. Bottom line: The spammers ruin it for the rest of us. Be angry at them, not Rick. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

I Like Pi
Gmail is a bit less suspect in that regard, as it requires an SMS-enabled phone or an invitation from an existing user to register. I'd suggest that one. Not anymore. Anyone can register for Gmail now without SMS. I agree with jp2paint. It doesn't make sense to block only Yahoo! when Hotmail and Gmail are equally easy to spam with.

jp2paint
Before the change, where there members on here using Yahoo! Mail addresses? How were they dealt with? Were they grandfathered in, or were they required to go elsewhere for their mail? shootingstarswishingheart
I use a yahoo account. I have for years, although this one is only several months old. I guess we got grandfathered in the switch-over. There are plenty of free domains out there that might be accepted, and many times you can set it up so new messages from them get forwarded automatically to your yahoo if thats what you insist on using. And usually your internet provider gives you one. My internet is through Qwest, so I had to get a @msn email with that. I guess I can see the point of only blocking Yahoo as opposed to other freebies like Hotmail being a bit unfair, but I can understand why it was done. I do appreciate the attempts to keep us running with as little spam as possible. Quote http://shootingstars.wishinghearts.googlepages.com
usedHONDA
One word: Gmail (or is that two?) I use it and it has a terrific spam blocker as well as lots of space that nobody will be able to fill in their lifetime. It also has a nice email management UI.
