mikewoodhouse
While we wait, there's a very reasonable implementation at http://www.thegedanken.com/retarget/ Up- and down-scaling, area protection and removal - it seems to have all the important bits. The price seems right too...
david.atwell
That's honestly one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
Deborah
Wow... amazing. I need to go try resizing every picture I can find now.
mikewoodhouse
I need to go try resizing every picture I can find now. It does kinda have that effect, doesn't it? I have noticed one small failing: when resizing in both dimensions, it alternates between vertical and horizontal, even if there are more seams to be removed in one dimension, so the excess in that direction are all done at the end. It probably doesn't make a lot of difference though.
bbrewder
I just read a blog post by someone who has implemented Seam Carving in .Net. http://blogs.msdn.com/mswanson/archive/ ... ation.aspx. I would love to see this as a plugin or in the next version of Paint.Net!
OVZh
Hi all, Here is a seam carving plugin I made: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/29492-content-aware-resize-aka-seam-carving/Moderator's note: install at your own risk. This plugin may not be finished. As always unzip it and put to the Effects folder. Any comments are higly welcome! Thanks,Oleg Zhukov Edited August 1, 2014 by david.atwell
david.atwell
Hey OVZh, You should probably post this in the Plugin Developers forum (if you're still seeking testing or development help) or in the Plugin Publishing forum (if you feel it's ready for release). Thanks! Sorry, I didn't see that you already had. Ignore me! :-) Edited August 1, 2014 by david.atwell Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior...
