Zoom in effect

Recommended Posts

This is an effect I came across a while back:

-Use the Barcode Plugin (use search) to make lines all the way across the image. Don't encode many more than seven characters, or it'll be too distorted.

-Use the Rectangular to Polar plugin.

Ta-daa!

Even better might be:

Gradient bars (1st color black, 2nd color alpha=0)

Adjust scale to what you want.

Flip image Vercital

Rect to pol

Zoom blur few times as needed.

I guess you duplicate the layer befour you flip it vertically, don't you?

edit

tried it, makes no big difference though, just a bit darker (but why did you flip the image?)

edit²

Gradient bars (1st color black, 2nd color alpha=0)

aah...I see! :) I just switched the 1st and 2nd color...same effect ^^

Flip so the black lines will be around the edges and not in the center after using rect to pol.

2nd color alpha=0 so the "zoom" lines doesn't cover the image at the bottom layer.

Wouldn't MadJik's Light Rays plugin with a transparent secondary colour and a few slider tweaks work?

The light rays were done on its own layer, duplicated, then twisted around. With more time I could have done better, thinner lines, opacity, more lines and such but I just wanted to get the general idea across.
