jsonchiu
I KNOW HOW TO USE THAT I JUST CANT FIND IT!!!!!!! Meh typing in caps doesn't help anything. If you can just read English, and not being so impatient like a n00b, you can find the lens plugin easily. Here's what I did: 1. go to http://www.getpaint.net/search.html 2. type lens 3. then the search result comes out... select the link that says something about lens plugin 4. takes me to the EdHarvey's effects pack, and by some reading, I found that it includes a lens effect 5. download it, extract it, and drop it into the effects folder 6. open paint.net, and look under Effects -> distorts 7. voila, you have the lens plugin! Paint Boy
Amazing tutorial! I suggest merging the rings and planet before adding curves unless you want different colors.

Quenlin
http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs21/f/2007/ ... uenlin.jpg You could also use this to make one of those "atoms" you see in cartoons like Futurama and Dexter. Just a plain globe with two thin rings and maybe a few electrons on the ring. My DA

anonymous6366
Thank you so much! I needed help figuring out how to make rings on a planet and I looked around for a while and found this. I just did the rings part. Here is what my 5min attempt yielded. /-\l\l[]/\/¥/\/\()µ§6366 Check out my gallery: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=24152
Litl-Lol95
 wow thanks! i could never figure out how to do the rings and make them JUST RIGHT ...lol Sticks and stones may break my bones but words... words might hurt me deeply, causing great emotional, mental, and psychological damage leading to a lowered self-esteem and decreased work-related efficiency. Goonfella
Have a look here - viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26979 This should tell you all you need to know. Look forward to seeing your pics. anonymous6366 - great pic. That star background is awesome and you did a great job on the rings, although it looks like you used a linear gradient on the planet. I tend to use radial as the planet is round and it blends in better. Kamala
Thank you so much for teaching this. Here's my humble attempt: @ Anonymous 6366, love that your planet's colors, lighting, and the starry-space! nakis
One of the many good tuts that I tried. Great rings effect. I started mine with the Add Noise plugin. The perspective isn’t that good but at least both axis, i.e. the one of the planet and that of the rings match, not like some I saw. Thanks for a great idea. Here is my version of Saturn: [Edit] Looks much better now (I hope)
Litl-Lol95
QUESTION TIME!!! How did some of you guys get shadows on the rings? Unless you actually did it free-hand or something... :?: :?: Sticks and stones may break my bones but words... words might hurt me deeply, causing great emotional, mental, and psychological damage leading to a lowered self-esteem and decreased work-related efficiency. All4Jesus
My radial blur is different from what yours is in your tut pix. I tried the radial blur I have and it doesn't give the desired effect. Do you have any ideas of what I could do? Thanks. Philippians 3:8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.
pyrochild
Radial blur just has a couple new settings and a prettier angle control since this tutorial was written. PeaceFrog777
I gave it a try! The rings came out a little funny, but it's not too shabby for a first try I guess. Edited December 11, 2010 by PeaceFrog777
