FiNGOLFiN
Now this isn't a plug to deviantart, or the respective artists, but it's where I've found the best pixelart ever. Myrddin
I'm a big fan of pixel art, the detail, the patience, the humour, it's all brilliant. I like these pixel towns that are around the interweb, very cool indeed. I tried it once but the patience that exudes from other examples didn't seem to absorb well with me so I abandoned pixeling all together, although making signatures and avatars require some pixeling to some extent. usedHONDA
I'll do it half in Paint.NET and half in MS Paint (PDN doesn't have large square brushes). Aakanaar
After doing a google search and reading the wikkipedia description of pixelart, I understand what it is. I work with it a good deal myself, specifically with how it relates to a game I play, where you can skin the program itself, and design maps using your own patches which are made of artwork. Some people use more advanced techniques, and probably do break the rules of pixelart, but the limited pallet and isometric view does require some pixel by pixel editing. Which is why I switched back to using MS Paint for working with it, as opposed to Paint dot Net, which doesn't play nice with the pallet.. The game I am refferencing is Furcadia (look it up.) One example of some of the work I've done with it can be found here. http://img529.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pillownc3.png
Helio
Yes! Pixel art is awesome! I really enjoy making Isometric pixeling, it is so artful, and it requires a lot of patience. Another activity I used to be involved quite a bit was Spriting. In fact, I had started a cartoon series, but then I got busy, and it slipped away. I have been thinking of starting it again recently, though... Quote v An excellent open–source strategy game—highly recommended. "I wish I had never been born," she said. "What are we born for?"
