Mr Frojo
Its nessecary for a lot of programs to work. Paint.net is one of those programs. It doesnt do anything to your computer. Quote I'm still alive!
Myrddin
The .NET Framework is extremely important for the running of Paint.NET as it's the 'framework' of what Paint.NET is written in and runs on (hence the similarity in the names). You can find a download of the .NET Framework on the Download section on the Home page. http://www.getpaint.net/index.html The .NET Framework is also useful for programs other than PDN, as it's a Microsoft development component it will help in the running of other applications and your system will have already come with version 1.1, all is needed is a simple download of the latest version to reap the benefits. Sooner or later, if not for PDN, other programs will require the use of a later version of the .NET Framework - v2.0 and above. I would personally suggest downloading both versions 2.0 and 3.0 to be on the safe side of future developments. Sozo
No, you won't notice a thing. The only changes go on behind the scenes.

usedHONDA
It's kinda like a car's air conditioning system-- it doesn't effect your car's performance that much, but it can make your life a whole lot easier (though it does add a few pounds to the vehicle). david.atwell
Good analogy, uH. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
