This Or That?

Desires. My desires are more complex than money.

Marbles or Jacks?

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

RotK. But please understand, it's a matter of choosing between "best" and "bestest." ;-)

Star Wars episodes 1, 3, and 5, or Star Wars episodes 2, 4, and 6?

Oh, you had to split it up like that, didn't you? :P

I suppose 1,2,3 or 4,5,6 would have been far too easy a choice.

I say 2,4,6.

Reasoning: I absolutely could not stand the child actor for Anakin in 1, and I think 2 had the most well-integrated computer animation of the new Trilogy.

Watto or Jar Jar?

Yeah, I thought putting the historically most reviled (1) and most revered (5) in the same one would be an interesting juxtaposition. And it made you think, didn't it?

I'm going with Jar Jar, and here's why: A few years ago, I had a copy of Star Wars: Episode I Racer for the Nintendo 64. Podracing was flipping sweet in that game, but anytime you weren't racing, all you could hear was Watto's nasty, terrible, gravelly voice saying the same three lines in Huttese over and over. It was PHENOMENALLY annoying. And I played that game a LOT.

Plus, I like that Jar Jar was directly responsible for the rise of the Emperor :-)

Okay, enough of my tome: Read a movie's novelization, or watch a book's film treatment?

Watch a book's film treatment.

The Hunt for Red October is still to this day one of my favorite movies. I actually like it better than the book. Not so for Clear and Present Danger, though. Harrison Ford != Jack Ryan...

Play a licensed video game based off a movie or watch a movie based off a video game?

Ooh, that's a really tough one...I'm going to go with video game from a movie, 'cause Godfather:Blackhand is awesome.

CMD, are you sure we're not related? I've loved Hunt for Red October pretty much my entire life. Connery was fantastic in that movie, and Alec Baldwin didn't suck yet...

I swear, I'm not trying to suck up to the mod...

Okay, so my question:

Would you rather paint your crowning masterpiece, have it seen by one other person, and then tragically be lost in a fire?

OR

Would you prefer to slap together a terrible, rush-job painting that is far from your best work, put it on display, and see it adored and used as your Mona Lisa long after you die?

(It boils down to: quality and obscurity, or slapdash and famous?)

Ah, you missed it...you lost the best painting forever. Try again.

Realism, usually. Abstract makes my head hurt. There is some good stuff, I'll grant you...

Thunderstorms or sunny skies?

Sleeping bag with no zipper (they call it a "blanket" ;-))

Caffiene or Decaf?

Home-brewed. I like my cash to remain in my wallet, not be pulled through my nose. :-)

Lightning or thunder?
