lemuzz
When I select an area with the magic wand then try to paint the selected area it won't paint. If I use either the rectangle select tool, lasso select or ellipse select tools in the same area I have no problem. What do I need to do to solve this problem. Paint_boy
Just what he said. I use imageshack though, it doesn't matter.
lemuzz
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa34 ... /jade2.png Hi Paintboy Here is the screenshot and thanks for your help. In the image I have selected a rectangle and elipse and painted and drawn a shape and selected it but it wouldn't paint. you can see the dotted line around the shape showing it is active. Ash
Seems you drawn lines and selected only the lines. Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
lemuzz
I drew the lines and used the magic wand and clicked inside the drawn lines which then selected the outside of the shape. then using the paint bucket tool clicked inside the active shape. I followed these steps for the other two selections as well and they both worked.Regards Lem
lemuzz
Thinking about what you said about selecting the lines, Earlier I used broad lines to outline a shape and only the lines were selected. Lem
Ash
If only the lines are selected, then the inside of the shape is NOT = can not color or anything else on none selected areas. lemuzz
I realise that but when I click inside the shape why do only the lines get selected and do exactly the same with the rectangle and elipse and the inside is active. Lem
Ash
I need more info. Do you have more then 1 layer? Do you have anything/shape on another layer? If nothing else. Try holding Ctrl key while using magic wand. Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
lemuzz
http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa34 ... =jade3.jpg Hi Ash. I only have 1 layer in this photo. I then used ctrl Magic wand, paint bucket in the drawn shape and got half the picture painted ( all areas painted were active) You can see the double lines are round the drawn shape suggesting that only the lines are active. spike 121
well use multiple layers first off, and it looks like your tolerance is too high Quote  "No. Dreaming is illegal."~Pyrochild
lemuzz
Hi Ash I have just done another shape and tried again an it worked fine. I wonder if I hadn't been careful enough drawing my lines and leaving some lines not touching? Lem

lemuzz
Thanks guys I have completed my first PopOut picture. It took a long time and the result was only fair. However I am pleased with the try. Hopefully I will speed up and improve with practice. Thanks to all who helped me and for a good programme.
