DrewDale
Shameless act of self appreciation. The year 1998, The TV program Later With Jools Holland, an ambition to appear on the show, a bigger ambition to be sharing a stage with Mike Oldfield. This appearance was just after the Horseguards Parade Premier of Tubular Bells III in London and the 1998 / 99 tour to follow. Great times and a great slice of music too. Yours truly is Stage right on Keyboards. No bells were harmed during the recording of this show.

Djisves
Drew, what an honour making music of this quality! I enjoy everything by Mike Oldfield but my favourite is Amarok. Was this just a one-off appearance or were you part of the band for the tour?
DrewDale
Cheers @Red ochre One good thing with Mr Holland is he will always offer airtime for a broad spectrum of groups and artists. Not many TV shows offer that now.

Amarok is a fantastic album and one of his stand outs for sure. Incantations still remains a fave too I was part of the touring band for the TBIII and Guitars tour. I also performed with Mike for the TBIII premier at horseguards parade. The song Man in the rain was spooky, not only was it raining, but the lights went out on stage too. Good times were had.

Drew, I finally had a chance to show this to the Lion (my hubby) today, and I'm supposed to send you a virtual high five. You did an awesome job!

Djisves
Last Saturday evening I had the pleasure to attend, for perhaps the 10th or 12th time over the last 30 years or so, a live concert by Giorgos Dalaras. This one was in Nicosia. He's perhaps the greatest Greek singer alive today and there's plenty of him on YouTube for anyone interested. I chose to post here a short clip from a concert at the ancient odeon at the foot of the Acropolis, with all-star vocal support, because it highlights the rapport Dalaras establishes with the audience. There's longer versions of the same song on YouTube (with an excellent bouzouki intro), a few even with English subtitles that put non-Greek speakers better in the mood. - EDIT: I found the same clip with subtitles Enjoy "Do not be angry with me, my dearest" (Mi mou thimonis matia mou) Edited May 2, 2017 by Djisves replaced with same clip +subtitles
