Questions on blurring, fading effects, layering, and text.

Hopfully I did this right....

How do I add effects to something - like coloring effects...

Like this for example..

And how do I blur pictures together? (for example this)

And do that bubble with the text on it (and be able to fade it?)

How do I overlay pictures like this...

How do I put text behind a picture like this?

I know lots of questions but im trying to get the hang of this graphics thing.

I'm not sure I'm the best to help you, but nice job on the specific topic title! Where'd you learn to do that? :wink:

Anyway, the Overlaying would be rather monotonous cutting out of pixels you don't want. The Text background would be some layering. And the blurring would be alpha masking and gaussian blurring.

Well, that's the part I'm fuzzy on.

The Overlay: Cut out (delete) all the background pixels (using Magic Wand, Eraser, etc.) Carefully!. Feather the remainder to make it look nice and smooth.

Text Backround: Cut out the things you want in the foreground. Copy them to another layer (top layer). Add text, etc, to the bottom layer, or make a third layer and put the text there (middle layer, or something like that).

Alpha Masking: Heck, I wish I knew.

By the way, on the second-to-last image, it says "What Really Happend." It should be "Happened."
