Ash
Lets say I have 2 objects 1 red color and 1 black color. And I move them together. The plugin will blend the 2 colors where the objects are touching. Is this possible?? If yes, can it be done on different layers? Like....My 1st red object is on top layer and the black object is one the 2nd layer? Kinda like this. No, it's not like feather, the plugin should only see all the different colors and blends them. Thanks!! Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
oma
would that be what they refer to as a smudge? Smudge as Rick says in most requested plug ins no estimated time. http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... 4296#24296 and yes just for the record this is one I've been really waiting for as well. chow. moc426
Effects can't work with other layers, so that part can't be done. if they are on same layer, and it is 2 solid colors, it can probably be done where it sets the transparency more and more as one color gets closer to the other, but I don't know. edit: since its on one layer, the red in your case would cover the black and it wouldn't know what is below it to blend it ... so I am not sure if this can work. barkbark00
This looks like something that would be handled by a layer blending mode... Quote Take responsibility for your own intelligence. -Rick Brewster

It's not blending the area of the colors, the plugin (in my head) is blending the edges of the different colors. Kinda like feather is blending with Alpha, but this blends with other colors. Like surface blur but blends with different color and not similar colors. Hope that make sense Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]

Ash
Hmmm....all of you are right if there are only 2 or 3 object on the screen. what if there are many? pyrochild
It's still just a matter of selecting them and Gaussian blur. If you can provide an example that clearly shows how this could be difficult that way, but simple with a plugin, then I'd consider it. BoltBait
Well, I must ask, what kind of idiot make a picture like that without using layers? Ash
ME :? :? Well, it's just an example. Even if all the color were on different layers, it'd take a while to select all the right area to blur, IMO. Ash
Maybe I'm just not geting this :? :? How about something like this? I'm not saying there MUST be a plugin, since I have my way of doing it already, just thought it would be cool. pyrochild
True, but how's a plugin going to be able to tell the difference between texture and edge? I'm not saying it's not doable, it just would be far more trouble than it's worth. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! Ash
The plugin should only blur the edge between the 2 colors by a few pixels. Lets say from 1 to 10 and everything beyond that would stay untouched. Just a thought. If far more trouble than it's worth. Then I say I will do it with the long way, and you spend you time making better plugins Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
Crazy Man Dan
To blur the color and keep the texture, at least on the Mastercard-esque image up there, put the texture in black and white on the bottom, put the colors in solids on a layer on top, blur the color layer, and set the blending mode to Overlay. Yeah, I really don't think this on will be happening. I honestly don't see where I'd use it myself, and I don't think the programming necessary will be picked up by anyone who knows how to do it. Then again, the PDN boards have different people on at different times of the day. Maybe someone will be intrigued by the idea and give it a shot.
