MRavioli
anyone play it? For those of you who don't know its basically a PC game in which you build and empire from scratch. From there, you expand into an empire while contending with rival nations. You can win the game by accomplishing one of five goals: conquering all other civilizations, controlling the majority of the world's land and population, being the first to construct a space ship capable of colonizing Alpha Centauri, increasing the Culture ratings of three different cities to "legendary" levels, and by being declared Secretary-General of the United Nations. If the game's clock runs out (by default in the year 2050 AD) with none of these goals fulfilled by any nation, the nation with the highest score is declared the winner. Oh yeah its like the only game in which they actually encourage you to mod the game (maps, units, game types). No one can cheat because, well, no ranking system to give you an intent to cheat. Yata
I've heard of it. A lot of people on a debate forum I go on play it and I've heard good things, but I don't want to spend money on it, if it costs anything. pyrochild
I've played it. Games progress far too slowly for my taste. Don't really like turn-based strategy anyway. I prefer Real-time, like Age of *. Gameplay too slow for me, don't like turn based games... I mostly play RTS's like Warcraft 3 and Ages of Empires Quote My Internet Explorer 8 Concept.... MRavioli
In relation to the Chuck Norris vs. Yoda thread there is a mod that is available for download that includes CHUCK NORRIS as a unit. 80 strength (twice as powerful as the strongest unit), 4 movement Quote The coolest Indian on Paint.NET
Sozo
I play Civ4. I like both RTS's and TBSG's. I also like other acronyms like YMCA, PCMCIA, and DVITFFH, for example. This was random.

I get bored of this game(or at least the older versions), probably because i never use mods. Quote ..:The Official Sass Giver:.. ..:Xbox Live Gamertag: Dutch Man Dann:.. Yes, just tell me exactly what the problem is or search around here (click on 'forums') I load up a mod, any mod, the game restarts and then i start playing on a standard-huge map. for about 5 minutes the game goes perfectly fine. then all of a sudden the screen blacks out, but the music is still going, and after that a Microsoft Error Report pops up saying that a problem occurred and civIV needs to shut down Quote The coolest Indian on Paint.NET
Ghost Ranger
Looking at your post here it looks like you don't have enough RAM ,512 is the recommended, also make sure that you have the latest patches, 1.61 for CIV 4 and 2.08 for warlords, most mods won't work w/o the latest patch. (You should get the warlords 2.08 patch from the link above, because it is the original patch Firaxis released where they forgot to put the copy protection (so it is still an official patch, not a no CD crack) on, so you don't have to put the CD in when starting the game ) Edit: ah bloody potato I just realized that they just released new patches...
