Rick Brewster
Can you check if the following file exists in your C:\Windows\System32 directory: wshom.ocx If you are on Windows XP (it looks like you are from the screenshot), it should be about 96 KB in size, dated August 4th, 2004. Rick Brewster
If you go to Start, then Run, and then type in "%WINDIR%" and click OK, what directory do you end up in? Is it C:\Windows , or something else (it could be similar, but not exactly the same) ? Rick Brewster
Most likely your wshom.ocx file is missing or damaged. It should be in %WINDIR%\System32. nife bender
i dont have a \system32 folder in there Quote thanks to crazy man dan for the great avatar and the tut on how to make it!!!!!!
Rick Brewster
Those numbers it's giving are meaningless -- essentially random junk (I really don't know why it even bothers displaying them!). Like I said, your wshom.ocx file is most likely missing or corrupt. I don't know why, because it's supposed to be there. Rick Brewster
i dont have a \system32 folder in there If you don't even have a System32 directory then I really don't know what kind of state your system is in, as that is a critical system directory (hence the name!). I don't know how to help you, sorry. nife bender
well it hasnt been defragged in a very long time and i just ran the analyze and its fragmented like crazy, so ill be running that all night. is there any other reasons why those dir and that file are in other places? EDIT: i hate computers, lol. that system32 was a hidden folder, i had to type in the dir in explorer to see it, there is that file in there but its 110kb not 96. might it be messed up?
