drakaan
...and here's my first animation (only 1 second worth...takes a while to render multiple frames)...looks like photobucket seriously screwed with the image quality (and converted it to flash video). Rest assured that the video I actually uploaded looked a lot better than that, but at least you get the idea. Again, as most of you already know, I'm not a graphical genius, but it didn't take long at all for me to get from "Hi, what's blender?" to shiny rotating balls. MRavioli
I'd really like to someday learn 3d anything, and maybe create a game or something. But i detest any form of scripting Quote The coolest Indian on Paint.NET
Yata
You don't have to use script to create 3D things. I don't know about Blender, but when I created buildings in Google Sketchup all of it was visual. No scripting needed. drakaan
Yeah...buildings are pretty straightforward, I think (and that'll probably be my first real rendering attempt, since I need a backdrop for characters to exist in). I need to put together a desert fortress scene. With PdN for my textures, how can I go wong
madhatterl7
I hear you guys the very first time I saw blender I wanted to drop kick my computer accross the room. The blender fans and users seem to be very unorganized like many other digital art software(that surprized me seeing that PDn was really the first I came accross.) Once you get to learn where the functions of Blender are it does move along quickly and it isnt really that bad but the learning curve is hard to deal with. If you just dont like it depending on what you would like to do K-3d maya (learning version) or terragen are good eaiser to use subsitutes Quote Madhatter's Deviant account. Where dreams come true! Wither
I tried using Blender, but I have this tragic glitch which thinks my scroll wheel can only scroll down, regardless of direction used. The same happens when I try to use Opera. ... And Firefox just flat out tells me I have no scroll wheel. I can get around this in Opera/Firefox by clicking the wheel and using that as my scroll option (or whatever you'd like to call it.) but that won't work in Blender. Just learning the freakishly confusing (for the moment) UI is one thing, but there's no way I can actually create anything if I'm about 400 yards away from it. Quite frustrating... -_- Anyone out there have a suggestion? ~ Quote YouTube | Myspace | deviantART
Bob
Your scroll wheel is broken? Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio
Wither
Well no, it works just fine in most applications. I can scroll in Word, IE, PdN, pretty much everything except for those mentioned above. Quote YouTube | Myspace | deviantART
Bob
You don't have any mouse bloatware installed? You know, this thing to configure your 235 mouse buttons and change DPI on the fly... Wither
Ok, that one flew right over my head. o__o Though I'm pretty sure I don't have that. Firefox - no scroll Opera, Blender, and WoW - down scroll only, regardless of which direction the wheel is spinning Literally every other program* - just fine Could it be another example of Vista dictatorship over my computer? ... I don't think so, but it wouldn't surprise me too much if it was. Especially with all those other horror stories out there. * out of programs I've used so far Quote YouTube | Myspace | deviantART
Powerslave UK
This is some work I made...(I make LOW-POLY models so don't be too harsh on its quality.)
