Maybe render? (render outline sounds kinda ok)

Well, actually it renders an outline... doesn't it...? :)

I don't know. It just doesn't feel right, being in Render.
I've been waiting for a plugin like this.
Me too! I kept thinking someone else would make it, but I got tired of waiting.

Should be 'Blur'!

Render to me create something new (grid, shape, etc...)

And with some settings the outline is blurred...

Maybe us plugin developers should make a new sub menu called "Object" where we put all plugins that work with objects. (Drop shadow, feather, outline, wet floor, etc.)

I agree with all but Feather as it is like a localised or specialised version of Gaussian, so I think Feather should stay put.

I would have have suggested a 'Miscellaneous' category which this would fit, but then everyone would be putting theirs in there because they're too idle to think. Also a 'Text' category but that would be pretty empty so essentially quite useless - it would end up as yet another menu branch to troll through.

Doesn't matter the source of the code of a plugin. It all matters what it does.

The fact is, Feather is useless without an object for it to work on.

Deep inside me there is the strong fear that you get 30 submenues when clicking "effects". When a new submenue is created, all developers would have the rebuid their plugins, otherwise it would be pointless (e.g. drop shadow would remain where it is) and I don't believe everybody would do this.

As I said, it is enough just making the code public, so everyone can put it in a category due to his desires. This would not create new work for the devolepers, and there would not be long discussions about what the plugin actually does. For example, I don't think rendering an outline blurs the picture in the sense of the blur-menue.

Also I hope that Rick will implement a user-specific plugin-system within this year, making discussions about new submenues anachronistic.

It's definitely not a blur. A blur, to be a blur, has to change the original image somehow. Outline Object does all of its work under the source image.

The more I think about it, the more it seems to me that Outline Object really does belong directly in the Effects menu, alongside similar effects such as Outline and Glow.

Yes. if your mouse pushes the slider forward too much, Bam! and paint.Net is gone.

How much RAM do you have? If you don't know how to check, just post the crash log. I believe I may know what's going on, and knowing how much RAM you have will help me confirm or scrap my idea.

You're just right.

When the first plugins were published, we hadn't such discussions, and today all developers are forced to put their effects in submenues. That's simply unfair.

So I'll shut up.

Last thing for me to say at this place: I really like the plugin, as I like your other plugins, pyrochild, and I hope to see more such good work by you. Thanks.

pyrochild, this is a great plugin. I'm glad someone finally wrote it. I can definitely see myself using this plugin quite often.

Here adhanberry... Like what I might make my next sig?

I don't know how for me it says like virus scanning and there is like a loading bar that sits there.

You mean you can't download it?

Check if cookies are allowed in your browser. Most of the file hosting services need enabled cookies (whyever).

^^Adding to Fisherman's Friend, if you have Java Script disabled that can also halt uploading sites, so try to enable or temporarily enable them for the session or for mediafire.com in general.

I have 1Go of RAM. I kinda posted something not to clearly -- it's only if you push the slider forward, then actually try to blur the image. As in click the OK button. Usually on images that take a lot of memory.

Something seems to be wrong. I could get this to work when I first got it about a week ago, but now I'm not getting anything. It shows the progress bar and seems to be doing something, but nothing ever shows. Nothing is selected, so I'm not sure. It's probably some really obvious answer but I'm stuck.

Edit: Nevermind, I fixed it...and it was really obvious. Now I feel stupid. Oh well.

I may know what's wrong. Will try to fix in the next version. Unfortunately, summer's almost over and my plate is filling up. Plus, I just got Potter!

Yeesh, Paint_boy! That Paint Boy font is hideous! Sorry. Everything else looks great though. *I wonder why...? Oh yeah! I made it.* I like the "proud user & supporter" gradient though.

Come on now, your little sig discussion doesn't belong in this thread.

He he.. Sorry, pyro. I made some cool (well, in my opinion they're cool) Vista buttons using your plug-in. I posted a picture of them in the Pictorium. Here's a link to the page where I posted the pic: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... start=6150

My post is at the very bottom.
