Making textures a higher resoultion without bad quality

I was thinking of something.. i was making a new mod in halo CE and i wanted to up the weapon textures from their standard 128 x 64 to 512 x 512 (like h2 vista guns) is this possible? and if so could somebody tell me how? i tried using the search function but i couldn't find anything

I depends whether hired gun used a different program or simply re-drew the textures. I've known a game to be re-released with completely re-drawn textures applied, granted, they looked similar to the originals but they had a more realistic appearance.

Maybe this is what this dude did instead of enlarging it, as CommanderSozo quite rightly said, you can't enlarge something by that much and keep its clarity.
