editing text

Recommended Posts

hi all,

when i type some text onto a layer and then move to another image when i go back to the layer with the text on i am unable to edit it, the cursor is no longer flashing and if i use the text tool again i 'm not unable to put the cursor at the end of a word to edit it. instead i have to do a ctrl z and retype the word

Is anyone able to tell me how i edit text?

thanks for any help

This is indeed a small inconvenience, and it might be there. Someday.

Ability to re-edit text, or "text layers", or some variation thereof -- This an enormous work item due to other plumbing that must be in place to enable it. This falls into the "yes I agree, and hopefully we'll have it someday." No ETA.

For text to be rendered correctly as far as effects, blend modes, etc. in PdN, it must be "rasterized," or turned from straight text into a bitmap format. This essentially means that the program can then not tell the difference between the text and the surrounding pixels.

The easiest way to avoid problems with this until the program is "re-plumbed," as Rick says, is to keep all of your text on an otherwise-transparent layer.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
