Jexter 0
I have looked all over the tutorials for something that I'm sure is super basic. Maybe that's why I can't find it. Either it's too basic for all of you folks or I'm too much of a novice to know what to look for. I just need to know a) how to have the images of a photo fade off on all four sides and how to create borders for photos, e.g. a round border for a rectangular image. I'll keep looking AND trying, but if anyone has any suggestions, I'd very much appreciate them.[/img]
PineappleQc 0
wrong forum to post that, but to answer you: you will need the feather plugin, look for it in the plugin section, it's stickied (I think...). BTW, read the instruction otherwise you'll have trouble using it and will come back here asking for more. someone2016 0
http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2756 Bang! just select the border, use a diamond gradient instead of starting from the left, start in the middle of the picture strecthing toward the outside. Tanel 8
I just need to know a) how to have the images of a photo fade off on all four sides I can introduce a quite simple workflow for that. First you need to install two plugins designed by BoltBait: Transparency Adjustment: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3285 and Gaussian Blur Channel: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=5652 Workflow: 1. Open your image on a single layer 2. Add a new empty layer and move it to bottom 3. Fill the bottom layer with a color you want to "fade into" 4. Select the image layer and make a rectangular selection inside it 5. Invert selection 6. Open "Transparency..." from Adjustments menu and turn the edge of your image transparent 7. Press Esc to deselect 8. Open "Gaussian Blur Channel" from Effects>Blurs menu and dial in Alpha blur until desired effect That's it! 8) You can easily use this blending method on all kind of shapes. Tanel 8
could you possibly point out where is the rectangular selection or how to make it and invert ? Just play around with Paint.NET to learn the essentials; use Help (F1) before asking in forum. This way we can avoid questions like "how to press any key?" Anyway, Rectangle Select is the first tool in the toolbox. Edit menu gives further options to handle selections. Browse Help for much more.
