Painstakingly Slooooww Forum?

Recommended Posts

So has anyone else noticed a real drop in page load time on these forums in the last day or two? It's driving me crazy...

Is there something I can fix here? Other pages load just fine, and this forum has worked great for me for at least a month prior to now.

Thanks.

Hmm... you're right! Kinda unfortunate that they don't give a better description of how the servers are doing.

I just ROTFL on this one...

Sorry Server 12 can't go to school today because he got a cold.
Give his homework to Server 11 who is aware of the situation.

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

Bweeugh... 41 seconds for every page... Can anyone kick this server in the nuts or something? Get it rolling people!

EDIT: My wish was fulfilled! Speed's back!

It seems faster than before it was slow.

Yeah this sentence means something.

You only think it is. It's like i put you in the desert with only a cracker, and three drops of water per hour. Then take you out of there, give you a normal meal, you'll tell me, that this meal is MUCH better then before you gotr into the desert. Just because you got used to less, this seems to be "more"...

Not that i want it back tho ;)

Sort of a bizarre mark of the way our society is that thirty seconds is a painfully long time, no? Of course, I really can't talk...

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Well if you pay for a 750kbps connection, you expect to get 30kbps, not 4kbps.

Sure. I'm just saying, twenty years ago, we would've been waiting for our dialup to load it for a good minute or so. Before that, we would've been driving to the library.

Like I said, I agree - the speed was unacceptably slow. I just find it interesting how our standards have changed...

And the speed it back. Oh yes!

And, yes I do know that I'm a tad late on the band wagon, but I kinda avoided the forum for the last few hours because of the speed, also threat of an electricity cut didn't urge me to internet my hours away like I normally do.
