TapeWyrm
In photoshop you can CTRL+Click on a layer and it'll select all non-transparent areas of the layer. I find this function extremely handy, however I can't seem to find anything equivalent to this in Paint.NET. I've been able to duplicate it somewhat by using the magic wand on the transparent areas, and inverting the selection. However, if there's some complexity in the layer this gets very tricky and is unwieldy at best. Is there an equivalent to this functionality in Paint.NET? If not, is there a plan to add such a thing? I haven't been able to find any information regarding this elsewhere on the forum (perhaps I'm not looking in the right areas?). Thanks
Stephan
Clicking on transparent areas with the Magic wand (tolerance @ 0%, hold shift) and the pressing ctrl+I will have the same effect.
Bob
Yeah, hold Shift. Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio
Cornipsus
Shift will select all transparent areas. Quote The God of Judgement is not pleased...
david.atwell
Shift will select all transparent areas. More specifically, Shift+Click with the magic wand will select all pixels in the layer with the exact same value (color and alpha) as the one you click. Very helpful with transparent areas. Crazy Man Dan
Alright, guys. Stephen posted a solution in the first reply. It's great that you want to help, but posting the same thing four times over isn't going to help any faster... Quote I am not a mechanism, I am part of the resistance; I am an organism, an animal, a creature, I am a beast. ~ Becoming the Archetype
