Text Layer

Recommended Posts

Hello...

I´m having a big trouble when I´m using layers to write text.

When I just click out of my text layer it´s converted to image and I can´t change it anymore (as text) and I lost all my work and have to do it again.

Any chance to implement a feature that permit us to do changes on a text layer?

Sorry about my terrible english.

Tks

As you've gathered text is indeed uneditable once finished with which is why when doing text to do it on a separate layer then flatten (or not, up to you) when you're happy with the overall piece.

As for implementing a text-type layer, this is something that is in the roadmap but won't be available until at least version 4.0. The below quote is from Rick himself:

The Popular Feature Request topic[/url]":0e185]Ability to re-edit text, or "text layers", or some variation thereof -- This an enormous work item due to other plumbing that must be in place to enable it. This falls into the "yes I agree, and hopefully we'll have it someday." No ETA.

Please read the Popular Feature Requests thread before requesting a feature.

Rick hopes Paint.NET to one day have the ability to do so, but there is no set schedule for when it will be implemented, if it happens at all.
