Popular Post lynxster4 3,212
I did these with @MJW's excellent Texture Merger plugin. Which one do you like better? This is called 'Maiden's Shield'. Two different outcomes using the same image. The first one has a more 'etched' look to it. The second has a more 'painted on' look. Please, let me know! MJW 1,328
Very well done! I like different aspects of each, but I think I prefer the first. Mostly, I believe, because the angle of the light adds a sheen to the surface.
Red ochre 1,635
Great work! I prefer the metallic look of the first one too. 1 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Diabolical Drawings ................Real Paintings
ReMake 1,018
The first, of course.
LionsDragon 939
Oh gorgeous! I also prefer the first, although the second one makes me think of a mandala. Combat warrior vs. spiritual warrior maybe?
Pixey 4,920
Wow @lynxster - you certainly have mastered @MJW's amazing Texture Plugin to a "T". Great pieces .......... but, although really hard to pick - I go with the 2nd one. Funny how we all differ at the end of the day . 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. lynxster4 3,212
Thank you so much, everyone, for commenting! I, myself, also prefer the first one. But, the second one sure is colorful! Woodsy 857
I like them both but I like the first one better! I'm addicted to the bevel object plugin and it resembles that affect. Edited November 7, 2016 by Woodsy 1 Quote My PDN Gallery

Maximilian 1,927
Being kind of a metal person myself, I feel a preference for the first shield
lynxster4 3,212
Thank you @Woodsy , @Shochi and @Maximilian!! Now we can defend our honor! Max, I will hit you up later... Woodsy...I have to digress...I don't think the Texture Merger plugin is at all like beveling objects. It's much more complicated than that. Rickhum 358
Good work lynxster, prefer the first shield. Lively colours great effect. Good to see some of texture merger's capabilities. 1 Quote “Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see further.” ― Thomas Carlyle
lynxster4 3,212
Thanks Pixey....I could play with this all day! Are you finding some things just don't work out as you intended? With so many controls, outcomes can vary greatly. (like with my shields) Thank you, Rickhum! More people seem to like the first one. The lighting angle seems to have a huge effect on the outcome.
