Rants *enter at own risk*

Pass. My opinion is if it isn't broke don't fix it. IE6 works just fine for me and I plan to use it for as long as I can. Every time I upgrade something of Microsoft's all they do is screw it up worse.

Hmm, and what got us on the topic of browsers in the first place? You... ranting about.... links... not working right.... And that is not "broke"? You must be a masochist. And IE7 is significantly less crappy than IE6. But still crappy. Glad to hear you've been persuaded to give Firefox a shot. Or was it Opera? 6 pages of off-topic is a lot to catch up with.... Opera, Firefox, either way, good call.

Rant: 6 pages of rants?! Really?!?

The links only didn't work on this forum. Everywhere else worked fine.

ClipX just went ape...stuff. Completely froze the computer to the point where the mouse wouldn't even move. On reboot, same issue. Had to go into safe mode to disable it from auto-starting. Ugh.

If I'm correct, CSS does.

Rant: I have no idea what SVG is.

They're kinda like PDFs on steroids. SVGs allow you to zoom in forever, hence the name Scalable Vector Graphics. It's basically a long XML script that you can edit in Notepad, and make a variety of things from a stick figure, a realistic full-color image, a company professional logo, a block of text, and even a web page!

Side note: The Sony Ericsson logo is naively an SVG! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... n_logo.svg

Fool me once... :?

My rant is two-fold...first off, Inkscape is all sorts of confusing...and secondly, I hate hate hate being my mom's tech support. I mean, I love her an everything, but it's all sorts of frustrating trying to explain stuff to her over the phone! :(

truth. The hands-on nature of computers doesn't lend itself well to teaching over a medium where you can't see what each other are doing, what you're talking about, and all that. Ask me in person, and I'll be glad to help people out with their computers. Ask me on the phone and I'm hanging up right then and there.

My mom will always ask me to explain something/do something for her, then not move enough to where I can see the screen and the cursor, and then she gets mad at me for it

I need to adopt that policy...but unfortunately it was my mom, and her computer was blue-screening. There wasn't much I could do except walk her through how to boot into safe mode and check for viruses/clean her registry.

And on an unrelated note, I just cannot seem to spell the word "her" correctly tonight on the first try. I've gotten "here" and "hear" as well as "hert" a lot... :?

I decided to try Firefox now the back/forward buttons on my mouse don't work. It's really annoying having to actually move the mouse and click >< It's a Logitech Setpoint MX610 if anybody knows a fix to this problem.

Is it possible to set the buttons to perform a keystroke when pressed?
